My dd is 11 months she has sore spots and patches on her face. I took her to the doctors last week who gave us some cream (dermol) and said use it for two weeks and see how it goes. If no better go back. It's been a week and her eyes are worse they looks really sore (pic included). I know she said two weeks but tbh 1 week has done shite all I am thinking an extra week won't help either?

Aibu I feel like I'm nagging going back all the time but I worry about her eyes.

She is totally well btw it doesn't seem to bother her!

YANBU. You were asked to go back in 2 weeks if it was "no better" but I think as it's worse, it's definitely reasonable to go back sooner.

I agree with Opti0na1 but if it's not bothering her it can't be sore?

I'd definitely go back, especially since it's near her eyea where tge skin is v thin She could be reacting badly to the Dermol.

Thanks dinosaurs - that's what I'm worried about when it was mostly around her mouth and cheeks I wasn't so worried I thought it was just really bad teething rash but around her eyes I feel more anxious about it!

The doctor said it looked like excema and the dermol should help so I'm not sure what would be next to try.

Oh bless, it looks really sore doesn't it? I think you should go back sooner, just because it's not bothering her now it is getting worse so may start to bother her?

I would definitely take her back. I'm no medic but that looks infected to me, she may need antibiotic cream eg fucidic acid.
Lovely little girl btw!

Thanks - She was ill a lot last year with chest infections (from 5 weeks to 5 months old) and was in hospital multiple times. I am so panicky about her now - she is my 6th child and up until she as born I was such a relaxed parent now I jump at any cough (from her - the others just get a tissue thrown at them Grin for some reason)

Ok I think I will make a doctors appointment tomorrow for whenever they can fit me in this week. Of course it will probably miraculously clear up in the waiting room Grin

My daughter was prescribed dermol when she was a baby for sore patches on her face, made it soo much worse and when we went back and saw another doctor she said it was to harsh for babies sensitive skin, she gave us cetraban I think it was called, cream and oil for the bath and that cleared it up in no time.
