New kitchen - Howdens or Benchmarx?

I'm posting here for traffic. We're planning to rent out my mum's old home to help pay for her care home fees. I've had a quote from Howdens for a new kitchen - 3 bed terraced house - for £1,400. I then asked Benchmarx what they could do and they have quoted £1,100. If I can get Howdens to match this quote, which is the best company to go with? Thanks very much .

I've got a howdens kitchen and I'm very pleased with it. The planning staff were great, really keen to make sure that I was happy with the design and they incorporated the changes we made along the way.

I wasn't impressed with the appearance of their granite work tops (they only do 2), but we went for wood and that is really nice.

As you are looking to rent out you will need something pretty sturdy. You may also need to look at how easy it will be to replace the doors in a few lets time.

So are the carcasses and doors the same thickness? What is the finish on the cupboard doors and carcasses like? Are there seams which could become dirt and damp traps?

Our kitchen is from Howdens, it's 5 years old and looks pretty much brand new and it's taken quite a battering over its lifetime. When we do come to replace it I'd go with Howdens again, they're good quality for the money. I've never heard of the other company, so I can't comment on theirs.

Howdens 100% - my husband owns a large construction company and uses them every time . They have good quality kitchens and appliances at very reasonable prices.
Also on the rare occasion there's a problem they sort it out with no delay or quibbles

I'm about to get a Howden 's kitchen fitted so I'm massively relieved by the replies above!

What's the different in spec between the two? Are the carcasses of the same thickness? Do the cabinets come ready built? Etc.

It is because people like you don't use the proper board, there is no traffic on them!

We've just had a Howdens kitchen fitted and we love it. Our builders were happy too as the cabinets come pre made unlike lots of other makes. This saved us money in the long run on labour putting the kitchen together. If your having any fitted appliances it's worth looking around too. We saved £1000 by looking elsewhere and Howdens price matched it for us.
