What should i do?

Dd (2yo) attends a preschool every morning for 2 hours. Recently a boy started (last week) and every parent recieved a letter stating that 'one of the pupils had a sibling who was suffering from cancer/leukemia and the sibling attending may be a carrier' and that we had to tell them if our dc were suffering from chicken pox, measles or shingles so that they can get the appropriate treatment for said child (had to be within 72 hours). Today on the notice board i realised the message was completely different and it said they have a pupil attending who is in remission (leukemia) and we had to tell them if our dc were suffering from a cough, cold, stomach bugs, chicken pox, measles, shingles or any other childhood diseases.
This brings me to my problem. Dd suffered from a stomach bug (september break) but had no d&v for just under 48 hours before going back. I read the handbook to make sure and it states that they have to stay off for 24 hours after the last episode of d&v or any medication (calpol). She was 100% back to normal, eating well before i made the decision to send her in. Dm thinks it will be ok and that dd was well and it was over the 24 hours. But i'm slightly worried what should i do?

If it was over the 24 hours ( and nearer 48) then you should be OK, but there is no harm in asking them if you are uncertain.

I'll mention it to her teacher tomorrow morning, hopefully it will be ok.

I would think it will be fine.

They have asked for you to tell them, so tell them. No doubt it will be fine but something like that can be life threatening to a child with leukaemia.

I would tell them, but it will be fine. Take the worry off your shoulders andand just mention it.

The letter (which you got first) didn't mention stomach bugs, you've read the notice board now and seen the changes to the details. You've done nothing wrong.

Just tell them asap and then that will be that. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Give them a call now and let them know. If your DD has had a stomach bug it is likely to be going around nursery.

You've done nothing wrong, but I think it would be worth letting them know one is going around. They can be extra careful with hand washing etc. and perhaps mention it to the child's parents who may wish to keep him away for a couple of days.

Everythings fine. They said it should be okay since it was over the 24 hours and nearer 48. I think it was for the parents who were sending their dc in whilst they were ill (6 hours after last episode) or with a runny nose.

I think you should ask for clarification, as the two letters you received/saw on the notice board are so different.

My dd always has a runny nose in winter aswell but maybe their just covering everything to make sure parents tell them the truth?
