My throat is burning right now. I was just in the GP yesterday, and she didn't notice it! It was starting to hurt yesterday but we both thought i was just reflux.

McDonalds chocolate milkshake. Failing that, ice cream. A glass of milk also works wonders but not quite so delicious.

Cointreau with ice is good for a sore throat, but it is quite addictive as it's just so good Smile

Tea. Gallons and gallons of tea. It's the only time I don't have flagons and flagons of coffee. Definitely nothing milky.

A bite of ice-cream followed by a sip of hot tea until both are finished.

I'd avoid dairy as I find it makes my throat all "gluggy" - produces more mucus, I think. Lemon juice and honey (whiskey optional) in hot water, cups of tea and paracetamol help. (Boring, I know.... but the hot drinks bring the circulation to the area and help clean up the inflammation faster) Hope you feel better!!!

Came to post McDonalds milkshake too.

Lived on them when I had tonsillitis.

Guinness is good too. And has lots of vitamins.

I do the alternating tea and ice cream thing too. Has to be plain vanilla ice cream - anything fruity stings. And gargle soluble aspirin then swallow (not a food but really helps!)

Melted chocolate (zapped in microwave and eaten with a spoon) Any type but especially milky bar white chocolate.

No dairy, makes mucus thicker. I make easy chicken soup with stock cube, pinch of ginger and chilli powder, bit of garlic, maybe some noodles.

How about toast? I'm weirdly craving for toast.

Yesterday all I ate was chicken soup and ginger tea.

This may sound counterintuitive, but pineapple juice is amazingly soothing when you have a sore throat. You need to keep your fluid intake up and PJ will really help. Hope you feel better soon.

Crab and sweetcorn soup from the local Chinese, REALLY hot. I nuke it in the microwave. Absolutely no dairy.

Ice poles from the freezer, the kids flavoured ones. So refreshing, somehow easier than trying to swallow cold drinks, but also cools the throat.

Tea with a slice of lemon in, and tomato soup.
