Forth and final year of my degree.
Been back a month and feel incredible isolated and a bit lonely. Been an okay ride, haven't made a lot of friends but made a few really good ones. My problems is that my house mate (and what I thought were close friends) have completely become cockswobble's and discarded their friends over their partners. My closest friend (best friend) has moved into new digs and logically she wants to spend her time getting to know the people she moved in with as they were originally people from her course. My other two close friends, one commutes and the other doesn't like going out and very work driven so won't come meet up with me.
Would I be unreasonable to just go do things on my own? Feel like I should just go seat in the the pub and have a cold glass of Wine.

Absolutely. One of the great pleasures in life that you realise over time is the sheer indulgence of a cold glass of wine with your own company. Find somewhere nice and relaxing where you'll feel comfortable, take a good book and enjoy.

Your social life will all change again when you graduate and work life kicks in. For now enjoy your student days - you'll be a responsible tax payer before you know it and then glasses of wine in the afternoon are a bit of a rare luxury untilyouhavetoddlerswhenitbecomesanecessity

Definitely go ahead and do stuff on your own. In the past and even now if I get some time on my own I would eat in a restaurant, go to a concert, go for a drink, take myself somewhere different for the day. But my absolute favourite is going to the cinema on my own.

Yep, absolutely fine.

I would just say, that be careful go for a drink on your own doesn't become a "going for a drink on your own rather than going for a drink with a group" thing regularly though.

There's nothing like autumnal light, a lovely pub garden, a good book and a pint of cider with no one interrupting you. Bliss.

Do it. It's not long ago I sat and had a coffee in Cafe Nero on my own, having always been scared of it before. I had a book with me and enjoyed myself so much I got another latte! Once DS is a smidge bigger and I feel confident to drive again after c section I shall be doing it again. It's one of life's little pleasures.

It has honestly got to the point where it's ridiculous! I like my own company but I like to socialize but the only socializing I seem to get is making someone a cup of tea or going for my weekly shop GrinI'm defiantly going to go have a nice quiet drink somewhere. I had thought about going and getting a nice bottle of prosseco but one of my housemates partner is a devote Mormon and regularly throws our coffee and tea away Confused and god forbid we have alcohol! We get a sermon!
Honestly that sounds like a great idea wigglesrock I've always wanted to go to an opera but know of my friends or family are into it!!!!! I feel a bit silly going to things on my own but I think I might try it!!!! I'm looking what's on at my local cinema as we speak!!!!!!

Go do things on your own, you'll enjoy that calm time. But I would look into groups that you might enjoy because some company is always good.

Good Grin you should have a nosy at your theatre as well. Sometimes I get a cheap ticket for a play at a showtime that isnt as popular. The beauty of going on your own is that if its dire you can leave early and if you like it then even better.

Definitely do stuff on your own - one of my greatest pleasures is a meal or a drink on my own.

But also, maybe look at whether there's a society or something that is having events or a do or to join in with. Just to widen the circle out a bit from the people you are living with... Might be you take up something that stays with you for life.

It doesn't have to be a Uni one - if you are in a city there'll be loads of things to do.
