I thought the woo thread is about courting, until I read the thread and realised it's about woo as in ghosts!

Pineapplemilkshake Sun 18-Sep-16 07:47:58

I thought STBXH was stupid bastard ex

alwaysmyfault Sun 18-Sep-16 07:54:40

Pineapple, me too!!!!! Felt so stupid when I found out the real meaning, but still can't read it any other way.

CoolToned Sun 18-Sep-16 07:57:18

I only found out now after reading your posts that it does not mean stupid bastard ex :P

I still don't know what those cookies they're giving out here mean. Or biscuits.

LaundryQueenHatesIroning Sun 18-Sep-16 08:00:23

I thought the biscuits were lemons and thought they meant troll (which I suppose sometimes they might)

Pineapplemilkshake Sun 18-Sep-16 08:00:27

Ah glad it wasn't just me then!!

meditrina Sun 18-Sep-16 08:00:34

That the 'D' part of DH etc always meant dear.

Rather than the full panoply of damned, drafted, dick-brained, dog-breathed, etc

PosiePootlePerkins Sun 18-Sep-16 08:11:18

What is STBXH? Its the one I've never been able to work out!

hermionesheldonawinchester Sun 18-Sep-16 08:14:33

Posie
It's soon-to-be ex-husband smile

PosiePootlePerkins Sun 18-Sep-16 08:16:30

Thank you!

meditrina Sun 18-Sep-16 08:16:42

'STBX' = Soon To Be eX (with or without H/W/P if you want to specific what sort of ex).

So separating, separated, divorcing but not yet fully disentangled.

NoFuchsGiven Sun 18-Sep-16 08:17:16

I thought STBXH stood for

Stupid
Twatting
Bastard
Ex
Husband.

I think its quite fitting and still read it that way.

Pilgit Sun 18-Sep-16 08:21:00

What does HTH stand for?

Pineapplemilkshake Sun 18-Sep-16 08:21:51

Hope that helps

meditrina Sun 18-Sep-16 08:22:17

HTH = 'hope that helps'

A passive aggressive and sarcastic phrase on MN (despite being utterly neutral on other sites)

PaulAnkaTheDog Sun 18-Sep-16 09:50:04

My thought on STBXH's meaning is a bit more violent than all of yours... I thought it me and Shoot The Bastard Ex Husband...

PaulAnkaTheDog Sun 18-Sep-16 09:50:30

Meant, not me and!

SmokingGun Sun 18-Sep-16 12:21:46

I kept seeing TIA at the end of posts and thought it was one poster with lots of threads signing off with her own name blush

TaterTots Sun 18-Sep-16 12:37:12

I hate all the DD1, DS3 business. It sounds like a strain of bacteria. People also take it to ridiculous extremes - DSIL's DM's EXDP etc. It also annoys me when I read 'I've been NC from DM for 10 years now' - if you're NC she's not that frigging D, is she?!

Squeegle Sun 18-Sep-16 12:39:09

It can be quite confusing when people talk about BF boyfriend and BF best friend

mrschatty Sun 18-Sep-16 12:40:52

smoking I also thought TIA was a name...

I was on a Facebook mum page and everyone signed off with TIA... I told my friend "Tia is such a popular name round here I never realised hmm" blush

ollieplimsoles Sun 18-Sep-16 12:47:16

I thought the 'woo' thread was going to be about things like psychics, spiritual healers and other things described as 'woo' by rational wiki!

What does WOHP mean?

Pineapplemilkshake Sun 18-Sep-16 12:51:39

Working Outside The House Parent I think

Coconutty Sun 18-Sep-16 12:54:37

I thought it was Happy to help, always to be used in a passive aggressive way.

SharingMichelle Sun 18-Sep-16 12:58:13

I used to think that HTH was 'happy to help' and it always really irritated me, people signing off with a smug, chirpy little "happy to help!!!".
