I thought the woo thread is about courting, until I read the thread and realised it's about woo as in ghosts!

Pineapple, me too!!!!! Felt so stupid when I found out the real meaning, but still can't read it any other way.

I only found out now after reading your posts that it does not mean stupid bastard ex :P

I still don't know what those cookies they're giving out here mean. Or biscuits.

I thought the biscuits were lemons and thought they meant troll (which I suppose sometimes they might)

Ah glad it wasn't just me then!!

That the 'D' part of DH etc always meant dear.

Rather than the full panoply of damned, drafted, dick-brained, dog-breathed, etc

What is STBXH? Its the one I've never been able to work out!

Posie
It's soon-to-be ex-husband Smile

Thank you!

'STBX' = Soon To Be eX (with or without H/W/P if you want to specific what sort of ex).

So separating, separated, divorcing but not yet fully disentangled.

I thought STBXH stood for

Stupid
Twatting
Bastard
Ex
Husband.

I think its quite fitting and still read it that way.

What does HTH stand for?

Report
Pineapplemilkshake · 18/09/2016 08:21

Hope that helps

Report
meditrina · 18/09/2016 08:22

HTH = 'hope that helps'

A passive aggressive and sarcastic phrase on MN (despite being utterly neutral on other sites)

My thought on STBXH's meaning is a bit more violent than all of yours... I thought it me and Shoot The Bastard Ex Husband...

PaulAnkaTheDog · 18/09/2016 09:50

Meant, not me and!

I kept seeing TIA at the end of posts and thought it was one poster with lots of threads signing off with her own name Blush

I hate all the DD1, DS3 business. It sounds like a strain of bacteria. People also take it to ridiculous extremes - DSIL's DM's EXDP etc. It also annoys me when I read 'I've been NC from DM for 10 years now' - if you're NC she's not that frigging D, is she?!

It can be quite confusing when people talk about BF boyfriend and BF best friend

Report
mrschatty · 18/09/2016 12:40

smoking I also thought TIA was a name...

I was on a Facebook mum page and everyone signed off with TIA... I told my friend "Tia is such a popular name round here I never realised Hmm" Blush

I thought the 'woo' thread was going to be about things like psychics, spiritual healers and other things described as 'woo' by rational wiki!

What does WOHP mean?

Report
Pineapplemilkshake · 18/09/2016 12:51

Working Outside The House Parent I think

I used to think that HTH was 'happy to help' and it always really irritated me, people signing off with a smug, chirpy little "happy to help!!!".

I thought PFB was precious fucking baby. That's still how I say it in my head
