To think 'memoir' type novels are only interesting if you are familiar with that era

I quite liked Call the Midwife. A friend of mine lent a similar type of 'memoir' about teaching in the 60s.

It was all a bit of a snooze-fest. The endless references to The Beatles, bouffants and girls named Shirley and Jean got full.

Yet I think if it had been about the 90s/early 2000s id have really enjoyed a bit of nostalgia.

So, AIBU to think these types of novels appeal most to people a similar age to the author,
