sorry to seem slow but there are all kinds of situations where Maui is the answer and I have never seen any suggestion why!

Some woman was having her wedding in Maui and mentioned it in literally every post she made. I think she turned out to have hairy hands.

There was a thread a while back about a very entitled bride getting married in Maui.

Oh she was brilliant! She had a few threads. She was that bonkers, I really wanted her to be real! Grin

OK, thank you.

Makes hurried notes to mention Maui in posts about weddings, entitlement, and hirsuit hands.

When one thread was deleted the deletion message was "Because Maui". I liked that.

She was a bit bonkers and planned an overseas wedding while expecting all 150 odd of the guests who would have come to a local wedding to save up pay themselves to join the B+G because 'but it's Maui'.
.because Maui is so amazing everyone they know should give up their own plans for 18 months to save up and go there all at the same time because its Maui...
Very occasionally a troll thread is so entertaining you just want them to lock it and put it in a special folder to be wheeled out at high days and holidays. Maui was one of those threads.

On the same note, could someone explain the 'cancel the cheque' I missed that one! I gots to know!

She had planned the wedding before she met the groom IIRC. And the marriage was looking doomed before it began but she wouldn't consider putting it off because Maui.

And she had a marble coffee table and her own very successful Frozen tribute act. I believe her name was Pippa. It was an epically good example of trolling.

Cancel the cheque was an op who had gifted a cheque to a bride who later sent an email complaining that the amount was not enough. I think it was about £100. Everyone told her to cancel the cheque.

Everyone told her to cancel the cheque. ..in spite of the fact that she stated clearly in her OP that the cheque had been cashed before she received the message.
1000 posts later (and after a daily mail article) people were still opening the thread and just typing 'I'd cancel the cheque'. So the thread became about 'bloody daily mail,'cancel the cheque', 'RTFT!' rather than the sheer gall of the bride in the OP.
Hence on any other thread 'have you cancelled the cheque' is a tongue in cheek way of suggesting the bloody obvious or that someone else is replying without RTFT.

My personal favourite was when it was covered on this morning and scofe finished the segment with the immortal words "personally I would have cancelled the cheque"

Maui was someone called 'heyhailey' I believe. References to Maui and the username Hailey (or haley?) I'm guessing he/she was watching Modern Family at the time of the trolling.

I'm confused I thought Pippa was Hailey?n

Yes the vision! Was she an interior designer from london town with 'visions'. Very funny. Should be a classic. Along with the thread about a nanny eating £8 packs of crackers.
