I'm 43 and figure I am probably too old for any more children but deep down in my heart I'd love another...aibu to ask how old you think is too old?

For me personally it was 30. I had my last at 29 and definitely now at 35 couldn't imagine doing it again.

However I generally think if your body can still do it- go for it!

41 ish probably. I think it's dependant on circumstances and health.

For me, 30. But then I had my first quite young so felt I seemed to miss out on the travelling etc that lots of my friends did. I look forward to ticking some things off the bucket list when DCs are older! Also, DP is 10 years older than me so that's a consideration too!

Probably 42.

Had my first at 35. I'd like a second before I'm 40. If I get to 40 and haven't had one I reserve the right to revise that.

I would probably be ok with having a baby up to my early 40s. I'm about to have DD2 and I'm 39. It's harder this time but that may be due to DD1!

For me It's different for everyone dependent on their circumstances, age of partner, ages of other children etc

I'm 35 pg with number 2 and wouldn't want to do it again/any later than this

I always thought you were a wee slip of a girl Oyster :) I don't know why! I picture you as a tall, slender 25 year old blonde. Anyway ...

I'm 39 and just had my first, so I'd say mid 40's

I think if you are fit and healthy and want another baby then go for it!

I think it depends when you start! I had my first at 31 and now, at 38, I feel like I'm done however some of my friends had their firsts later and are ready for number 2 and more.

Comments like these make me feel weird - would pregnancy and childrearing have been a breeze if I'd had mine 10 years younger?

40 for me. I have 2 and I would be very concerned about the increased risk of disability and how that would impact on my existing family. If I'd started younger I'd have liked a third.

I've always had 40 to be the final age for me, having recently turned 40 I still stick by that and couldn't/wouldn't have another, I just think it's far too risky now.....

Spiderpigspiderpig · 13/09/2016 21:40

No idea deadgood for me it's because I already have 2
I couldn't imagine ever doing it again. Not because it was hard, just because I'm done.

For me, it was about 28 when I realised there was no way I was going to have any more children. But I had my youngest at 19 and 2 more in my 20's so started young and don't want to have babies over decades.
Personally, my body really felt it the third time even though it had been about 4/5 years since my last pregnancy.
I felt old doing it, had horrific SPD that still hasn't gone away 5 years down the line (much better but still not gone), and generally it has really taken its toll on me.
I look around at people having babies in their 30's and think they're crazy!
That's completely personal, I know lots of people will think I've been crazy to have mine young and that's fine too, this isn't in any way a dig at anyone who has kids later in life for whatever reason, just that it's not for me.
