This is a bit weird so bear with me.

Every time my DS, he’s 3, eats something he really enjoys he goes into a trance like state and develops twitches (proper, real twitches) in his arms and head, it’s almost like he’s left the room such is the trance. They normally last for around 10 seconds after each mouthful.

It’s really weird to witness but he seems fine after each episode and it only ever happens when he’s enjoying his food. I’ve taken a short video, can we upload videos to MS?

Have you taken him to a doctor?

It could be something to do with his blood sugar or similar?

I think we should although it never happens when he gets a chocolate treat. Normally it's chicken and gravy or home made pasta that starts him off.

Food Tourette's ?

Hmm

Maybe some kind of sensory pleasure reaction but take him to the GP if you are worried

My DD sometimes used to do that. It passed as she grew. Just enjoying the food it seemed.

Yes, Tourettes. When you see the vid you'll see what I mean.

I'm going to speak to the OH and get permission to post a video on youtube.

Hopefully you're right though, sensory pleasure reaction seems fairly accurate.

It seems like a sensory issue from what you say.
