I'm not, am I?

If you don't know what dh/ds/dd means, browse a bit and read a bit until you do.

If you don't know how to add smileys or links, explore a bit further on the site, until you do.

If you think everyone is horrible - go back to wherever you bloody came from!

Also very strong views over what MN should and shouldn't be and who should be on it. Whilst I forget some like IIRC DH, DM etc is mostly self intuitive

And all the fucking whinging about the cunting swearing - please do fuck off then Grin

LineyReborn · 11/09/2016 22:57

Indeed. Read the fucking instructions before you start moaning on about not being able to understand it.

Dh, dd etc is pretty standard. It's what we used to put on a now defunct parenting forum I used to be a member of.

And the smileys and links are just under where you post at least it is on mine .

Do people seriously moan about swearing? Pleeeease we have stressful times a good cuss is a great medication!

YesMany of the most common acronyms aren't exclusive to mn.

Admittedly ODFOF may be. But we all learn.
No one was born here. (Ok maybe a few were born here but not many).

On the desktop site: see that box where it says "Add your message here" and you type in your whinge? If you scroll down just for 1 second you will find a complete explanation of all the smileys, formatting and how to do links.

Well, it is partly Mumsnets' own fault, as they made log in compulsory for all, so people like me as I'm a lazy fucker who normally don't bother posting are now more inclined to do so.

To be fair tho, the acronyms aren't particularly difficult to work out (mostly)

But when I put up a post asking for people's opinions I didn't think anyone's opinion would be different to mine!!! Surely people aren't allowed to just post their thoughts? Shock

bibbitybobbityyhat · 11/09/2016 23:04

No, no one was born here and everybody was new once. Quite agree.

It's the bloody hoardes of people who've been here 5 minutes spouting off about how horrible everyone is! Fuck the fuck off.

Yes it seems every week a newbie starts a "swearing isn't nice, please don't swear, God doesn't like it" type thread. Hmm

How dare anyone have a different opinion to me, I am right 24/7, isn't that what a forum is all about? You making a post about putting your arse in a fire and EVERYONE agreeing with you? Insert sarcasm...

BeMorePanda · 11/09/2016 23:07

If DD2 ever signs up to mn, she can pretty much claim being born here. But that is years off.

YouTheCat · 11/09/2016 23:07

I like a good swear.

Be nice to newbies - they're the future oldies.

I have been around a while and still hate the DS, DD, DH, DstbXSIL bollocks. Just writing the words makes a post so much easier to read for everyone.

I do not like having to decode a post with the skills of a GCHQ spy.

Report
Whocansay · 11/09/2016 23:10

I don't mind people asking about the acronyms, tbh. But the people who don't like swearing can fuck off. Swearing's great. Especially when venting!

Yanbu

I wonder when they last walked into a pub and told the regulars they're doing it all wrong and they're a bunch of great big meanies?

Probably never, if they were planning on getting out alive.

YAabsolutelyNBU. Every few fecking days there's a post along the lines of MN is so nasty / why do you all swear so much / I've been posting on here a few days and think that you're all horrible. It's rather tiresome. No forum is obligatory. If you don't like it here, you just don't read or post, surely? Instead of telling us all how awful we are.

Report
BIWI · 11/09/2016 23:12

You don't have to use the acronyms though - it's not a rule!
