AIBU?

Dog Barking at 5am

Not really an AIBU, but I need to rant.

I moved house in June and so far we've had no major problems.

The only thing is, every morning, at 5am (ish) one of the houses at the back of ours there is a dog outside barking and howling constantly until about 6.30am.

I love dogs, and I feel so sorry for this poor thing, but I'm exhausted from being woken up every morning even when I'm not working.

I have no idea which house it's coming from, I know a general direction.

Surely if the owners are in the house, they can hear their dog barking? Why do they think it's ok? If they go out and leave the dog outside, surely one of their more direct neighbours would tell them?
Just wish I could find out where the dog lives so I could go round and have a word!!!!!

God you poor thing, what a nightmare. I would definitely plan a morning to stalk the neighbourhood, find out which house then bang on their door at 5am.

I'm going to do that tomorrow morning I think.
It's raining quite heavily so no wonder the poor dog wants to be let in!!

That is pretty selfish. They probably let it out and sod off back to bed. Find out who it is and make a nuisance of yourself so they start letting it back in.

This happened here. Every morning at the same time.My dh did some surveillance and then knocked on the door at 5 am saying just to let you know your dog is barking. Being woken up from their sleep must have worked as it never happened again.
