I have just had a call at work from DS (7) to tell me that the girl who lives next door has just thrown dog poo over the fence at him... it went in his ear and all over his neck. He was sick from the smell. DP has cleaned him up and is about to start cleaning the back door and side of the house.
I am 15 minutes away and wouldn't normally get home until 6pm.
DP won't involve neighbours as they have had words before and I am the calm one in our household... so he is just going to clean it up and not say anything....
I am so angry that by the time I can talk to the parents there will be nothing for them to see, my DP will have spent precious time on the last afternoon before DS's go back to school cleaning up and worst of all my poor DS has been made sick and covered in dog shit!!!
Am I over-reacting?? I am so cross!!

How did it get in his ear??

I think your husband should have dealt with it as it happened and gone round to see them while the evidence was still there. Your poor son.

His ear, his neck, the door, and the side of the house!?

Was it a dog, or an elephant? Hmm

That girl has a great aim. She should start training for the olympics!

They have poo flinging at the olympics right?

I'd have sent the child round there and told them to clean it up. Their shite, their problem.

YANBU to be mad. What are the parents like, could you speak to them and have them tear a strip off her, or will they back her up?

Well I am not there but apparently she got him across the side of the head so yes IN his ear (DP described it "like an old fashioned hearing aid") on his neck the splattered up the wall where he was standing.

So basically the poo (regardless of size/aim/application) is irrelevant and I should not be cross, just thrilled to be living next door to a future Olympian....
Hmm

How old is the child next door?

If someone threw dog poo at me deliberately I would be reporting them for assault. I don't know what you can do if a very young child assaults another one like this though. I know MN always gets totally up in arms at the idea of contacting the police for any reason at all, but I don;t see why children should have to put up with being assaulted in a totally disgusting way when no adult would dream of putting up with that.

Your poor little boy Sad

Phone the police. Disgusting and a public health issue. He might end up blind from toxocara, or catch any number of unpleasant bacterial diseases.

Throw some shit back - I would. If you don't have a dog you'll have to use your initiative.

Buzzardbird · 06/09/2016 17:46

Calm down a bit carefree, don't think Police really have time for the Phantom Poo Flinger (who is probably a child).
He won't go blind from poo in his ear.

Thrower is 8. My DS is 7 tomorrow...

As for "he won't go blind from poo in his ear" well obviously but ears and eyes are pretty close together so its lucky it didn't go in his eyes...
What about next time?

So for those who actually think this is a bit serious, I am going to see her mother as soon as I get home. I am calm now and am going to explain the dangers of poo and make sure she has washed her hands...

Grim... so grim

That's really horrible for your ds. I can only assume a lot of the people who've replied think you're a poo troll as the flippant replies are heartless and nasty considering a wee boy has had shit thrown in his face.

If you're in dispute with these neighbours it might be a good idea to phone 101 and get the police to have a word with them. This is totally unacceptable behaviour from anyone, regardless of their age.

I'm another for the police, they can at least go over there and explain to the young girl that what she did is actually assault and potentially dangerous not to mention down right disgusting. If the parents do not listen and do not offer any sort of apology, either throw a humungous and soft turd back at the dirty little troll or get the police involved.

I don't know why people think this is funny ?
It's not a phantom poo flinger - it's the girl next door as OP said in her OP.

If the police don;t have time for this sort of thing then they can say that to OP if she rings 101, then she will only have 'wasted' a minute of their time on the phone and they might be able to advise her as to how to deal with the problem.Community police officers might be able to help.

Why is it funny when a child gets assaulted and humiliated ? If an adult was posting that another adult had thrown dog shit at them in the street, no one would hesitate to say report them for assault. I never understand why some people think children should have to put up with all kinds of vileness just because they are children.

Multiple people suggesting phone the police...I despair.

What did your DS do to her, did you bother to ask?
