SIL has one of those anklets with something on that jingles every fucking single step she takes. She never ever takes it off. It's doing my head in now.

WIBU to just rip it off her ankle and throw it a thousand million miles??!?!

YABU, don't take it off first

ateapotandacake · 30/08/2016 22:02

YANBU! Jangly anklet sounds like hell. Does she wear toe rings with bells on too?

WorraLiberty · 30/08/2016 22:03

Stick her outside in a tree.

Omgkitties · 30/08/2016 22:04

It's so annoying! I brought one when I was on holiday when I was 16. Thought it was so cute but 2 minutes of walking and I annoyed myself and had to take it off. Still have it but haven't worn it since.

Go home? It's nearly bed time anyway.

Donthateprocreate · 30/08/2016 22:05

Do it.

Fucking obnoxious things.

Everyone who wear one should be burned at the stake!

Omgkitties · 30/08/2016 22:06

2rebecca I would if I could but she's in my house!

Hassled · 30/08/2016 22:06

How does it not annoy her though? I had one once - it drove me spare after about 5 minutes.

Donthateprocreate · 30/08/2016 22:07

That makes it easier. Tell her to take the damn thing off or go home.

Why's she at your house so late?!

PaulAnkaTheDog · 30/08/2016 22:07

How have I missed these?! I'm only 27, am I officially too old to keep up with the fashion trends?

BennyTheBall · 30/08/2016 22:08

Ooh. Kill her. Not a court in the land would find you guilty.

Like a human wind chime in terms of irritation.

GissASquizz · 30/08/2016 22:08

I cant visualise this. Is it some kind of morris dancer/sleigh bells thing?

LeonardInTheArgosBag · 30/08/2016 22:08

At least she won't be able to sneak up on you, or local wildlife.

pasic · 30/08/2016 22:09

My mum said that "streetwalkers" always wore them. I never got one.

Willywolly · 30/08/2016 22:09

How old is she? Surely not an adult? At least not a sane one.

User543212345 · 30/08/2016 22:09

My dad used to always say they're the mark of a prostitute. I never had one as a result. Seems his bigotry saved me from driving myself potty.

Have you asked her how it doesn't annoy her, OP? Maybe she hasn't noticed yet and you need to make her as annoyed as you.

jellycat1 · 30/08/2016 22:10

jellie
Grin

KindergartenKop · 30/08/2016 22:11

Maybe it's to warn birds so she can't hunt them?

2rebecca · 30/08/2016 22:12

How long is she staying for? If in your house you could say "would you mind taking the anklet off please the jingling is annoying me"

Omgkitties · 30/08/2016 22:12

hassled Fuck knows. It's on constantly even when she's in bed asleep, she's probably learnt to tune it out by now. I on the other hand can not!!

We live in Bournemouth so her and DHs brother have come to visit for the week. They're 18/19 so yes an adult but still a young one so well let the age go.

GissASquizz I'll add a pic.

Yeah I got told only prostitutes and strippers wore them by my name but there kinda cute. If they're silent and simple, not OTT!

I'm always making DH jump when I enter a room silently. He was suggesting I wore a bell the other day, so this may be the answer to his prayers.

It's a curfew tag for hippies.

The probation officers just listen for the jangly noise to see if they're out past 8pm.

Omgkitties · 30/08/2016 22:15

A week from Saturday so another 4 days.

I would say something but DPs told me not to because she'll make a huge fuss and make out like I was a massive bitch to her. Hmm

Can you tell her it's giving you a headache and would she please mind taking it off while she's there. Sounds bloody irritating.
