Yelled at it so it retreated (rather slowly). Shut door between house and conservatory ... And 2 mins later saw had wandered back into conservatory, as casual as you like!

AIBU to call for best ways to deter foxes? Do not want him wandering on in!

Live in Richmond, London btw so this is a semi urban fox ....

A large dog would probably work.

purplefox · 30/08/2016 20:12

Shut the conservatory door?

JellyBelli · 30/08/2016 20:13

Try a cardboard cutout cat in the doorway, or hang 2 CD's so they look like big eyes. Someone has probably been feding it and its used to people.

Tiredtomybones · 30/08/2016 20:14

I have no idea how to stop it, other than keeping doors closed, but I have to say I'd have been terrified

Boundaries · 30/08/2016 20:15

Get this guy to stand in the conservatory.

Like has been said, shut your door, too obvious?

Pardonwhat · 30/08/2016 20:17

A foxhound would probably do it Grin
Foxes are horrid.

HerdsOfWilderbeest · 30/08/2016 20:18

Fucking HELLLLL that's horrific. Next thing you know it'll be kicking back in your favourite chair, drinking a gin and tonic and insisting on watching the golf. Takes the piss.

yumyumlama · 30/08/2016 20:20

On these lovely summer days I'm loving having the doors open, so feels like a loss of freedom to shut them ,,, do love the idea of putting up a picture of man in red coat, but fear the fox won't react!

Cats .. Do they deter foxes then?

Bloody hell - just been & shut my patio door reading this. I genuinely don't know what I'd do if that happened to me

yumyumlama · 30/08/2016 20:21

Doh, dogs not cats ... !!

Awww, I'd give him some food and a name.

Possibly a cat bed and a collar.

Avebury · 30/08/2016 20:23

Stair gate in the doorway?

Boundaries · 30/08/2016 20:23

Me too, Joffrey.

BarbarianMum · 30/08/2016 20:23

No, they're more of a snack.
Jjacobb · 30/08/2016 20:24

Awww I love foxes, I would have fed it.

VilootShesCute · 30/08/2016 20:24

Don't watch Zoo on Netflix...

JellyBelli · 30/08/2016 20:24

I've seen a cat chase a fox away from a food dish Smile

Northernlurker · 30/08/2016 20:26

A tough cat wouldn't stand for this but most would be more scared than you

Seekingadvice123 · 30/08/2016 20:26

Picture of Loathsome Leadsom should do the trick. She hates wildlife.

Tiptoethr0ughthetulips · 30/08/2016 20:27

What Joffrey said.

VilootShesCute · 30/08/2016 20:27

My cat kicks about with a fox. Neighbour saw them when she peeped out of window at midnight the other night! Trotting along beside one another they were.

Did it 'wander' in? Or was it more of a 'saunter'? the little bastard

NonnoMum · 30/08/2016 20:29

Ps I am about as left wing as you get, apart from when it comes to Fox Hunting. I don't mind the posho-s sorting out Mr Foxy on Boxing Day...

Thecontentedcat · 30/08/2016 20:30

Supersoaker? Chilli powder in the garden?
