Last night I was forced to invited out with some people from work and it transpires one of my distant colleagues knows one of my good mum friends. When I was explaining how I knew this friend she said;
"Oh you're the one with hundreds of plug ins that give x the almighty headaches....hahahaha" Hmm

She spoke like it was some in joke but this is all new to me! I'm livid. I know it's not crime of the century to have plug ins but I'm angered at the fact she's obviously talking about me to others. Should I let on I know or secretly seethe or get rid of plug ins?? more plug ins and turn them up when she comes Angry

Wrap her a plug in up for Christmas and give it to her?
I would be a bit out out maybe but each to their own I suppose. ( I like plug ins anyway).

Do you mean it's one of your mum's good friends or one of your friends who is a mum? If it's the latter I'd be tempted to take a step back from someone who is so rude and thoughtless as to say unkind things about a friend to another friend.

I'm lost here. Why is a plug in offensive? I assume it's of the air freshening variety?Hmm

Plug ins are grim. Very headachey and nauseating. They are also a fire hazzard.

Open a window and clean your house.

Oh yeah, I'm a fan of plug ins, and air fresheners in general. Keep the plug ins if they work for you.

Oh this is going to split MN Grin

They are nasty and they do cause headaches imo but how dull does your life have to be before you talk about the ones at a friend's house to another friend who doesn't know who you're talking about?!

How rude of the mutual friend to say that to you! And shit stiry.

I would get more and turn them up. And some reed diffusers.

Gmbk · 30/08/2016 16:34

Get rid.
They are fucking nasty, they stink and give me headaches.

We had someone who used them in a school and they had to be removed due to people with asthma.

They are bloody horrible. Why do you have them plugged in?!

I have to say I prefer a reed diffuser. Need to pay £££ to get a decent one though.

Plug ins are awful I'm afraid (they have been known to give me migraines as well). No need for the rude comments though!

Definitely don't get rid of the plug ins. Tough tits if they give some special snowflake a headache. As long as they're okay for your house then it's all good.

I have a friend who makes our mutual friend turn all the plug ins off before she visits Grin

I'm a candle lover in Winter but during Summer it's flowers , open windows and doors.

Sorry OP, I loathe plug-ins.

Perhaps your mum friend was on the subject of things which cause headaches and mentioned your plug ins as an example...

They give me a headache too. I can't imagine how potent a few at once would be!

Open a window for nice smells.

A plug in screams "I'm a smelly fucker and trying to hide it".
