This is a heartfelt plea to all the Mumsnetters in Edinburgh. I was running down Princes Street the other day, late as usual, and saw a shop window with the most striking and gorgeous display of black dresses with embroidered flowers on them. Thought must look online when I get home. Am back in Aberdeen now and have spent an hour looking up the websites of every chain I can think of listed as being on Princes Street and I can't find them! If you are walking up the street and know what shop it is, do please put me out of my misery (light hearted but also, argh)

If you know where about on Princes Street it was, can you look on Google Street View and find the name of the shop?

If at West end of Princes Street it could have been zara.

Yes agree, Zara had some embroidered black dresses recently

It's got to be that Spanish shop - name has gone! Aargh!

Slightly quirky/ mildly hippy vibe?

Desigual! I'm sure they're on princes street.

Can you remember which end of Princes St? I'm 'working' near the Balmoral right now so could have a quick look later.

I think it was roughly opposite the National Gallery but I'm not sure and I had scuttled all the way from Charlotte Square to Waverley at speed so I'm not completely certain. I did a Google search for all the clothes shops already and looked at all the black florals (not the least bit obsessive thenHmm) and just cannot find them! This post is a last resort! There were four or five frocks in black, bright embroidery, some see-through bits. Sort of Cossacky, gypsy looking.

I was sure I passed one last time I was there?

Monsoon also had some black embroidered dresses with pink flowers the other day. Think they were wrap dresses though.

Hmm the website seems to only show two stores in London and I'm certain there's one in Glasgow.

There's not been one in Glasgow for ages. It was very short lived. Sad

Don't you love Mumsnet when someone like fire dancer offers to check it out. Much nicer than some of the criticism and horrible replies on some threads.
FiredancerFlowers and to the others trying to help.

Been on both sites. Think it was Zara but the frock was pinned so didn't look the same. Has no waist. Thank you indeed to fire dancer, our posts crossed. If you ever need anything weird checked in Aberdeen I'm your womanGrin

I'd say Zara. I have bought the dress and the coat, saw them in Madrid last weekend and fell in love with them. And yes, they were in the shop window of all Zaras in Madrid.

Sorry, I ran out of phone battery! I walked along Princes St and there were no black dresses with embroidery. Perhaps they changed the displays in the morning.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
