AIBU?

To be irritated by shop stock?

Yes I know I am but I just got back from holiday an hour ago and am doing last minute shopping for a party I'm going to in an hour.
She asked for slippers.
Can I buy slippers? No I bloody can't.
I have been to 8 shops, 3 of which are actual shoe shops. They have sandals, flip flops, WELLIES, but no slippers.
When I'm trying to pick up summer things like bikinis in the summertime, I'm told it's too late, they're selling their Autumn/Winter collection.
So I thought I'd be safe, shopping for slippers in the summer as they are, you know, AUTUMN/FUCKINGWINTER!
And yes, I know I'm shouting Grin
And I've now wasted a further 5 minutes of my time typing this message of anger. All in a bid to deem IANBU to expect shops to sell the stock they say they are stocking!

Primark have slippers in yesterday

AndNowItsSeven · 28/08/2016 12:13

Asda

TaterTots · 28/08/2016 12:13

This is the irony of BHS closing this weekend.

RJnomore1 · 28/08/2016 12:13

You probably ANBU but you made me laugh at that I feel your pain

CakeNinja · 28/08/2016 12:14

I'm not near a primary, asda OR BHS!

Move house.

Soubriquet · 28/08/2016 12:17

Sainsburys have slippers!

CakeNinja · 28/08/2016 12:20

Oh my god, I've just pulled up to a sainsburys to get emergency presents, will look for slippers but probably write an IOU in a card, I was hoping for something a little more luxury than sainsburys (no offence, I'm very grateful for the advice and will have a look anyway! But I usually spend around £50 on her so was going to splash out on some fancy ones).

How will moving house help me?Grin

No offence taken Grin
I couldn't imagine spending £50 on slippers though.

Have you got a beales nearby?

TaterTots · 28/08/2016 12:23

Just being a bit facetious because you said you didn't live near any of the shops suggested Grin

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 28/08/2016 12:27

We're going abroad next week so we popped to our nearby (huge) shopping centre for some last minute bikinis, flip flops etc. Trawled all the major high street shops for hours, could I find any? Could I chuff!

All big chunky jumpers and boots. Only bikinis I could find was 3 pretty hideous sets in Next. £30 for the top £20 quid-ish for the bottoms. I'm not paying near on £50 for a bikini.
Other than that there were the remnants of the sale with no visible sets and odd sizes!

Might just buy them when I'm over there.

AnotherTimeMaybe · 28/08/2016 12:32

So 50 on slippers Hmm
Do you have Gucci near you at least?

Leggytadpole · 28/08/2016 12:34

Next have slippers.

ShotsFired · 28/08/2016 12:35

Garden centre is your best bet.

They always have expensive overpriced random stuff in. You could probably get her some floral garden clogs, at the very least.

elodie2000 · 28/08/2016 12:37

John Lewis?

WorraLiberty · 28/08/2016 12:39

I agree with TaterTots Grin

Just move house.

And do it now (before the party) instead of all this anger and drama.

elodie2000 · 28/08/2016 12:40

I have floral garden clogs! They were an unwanted gift! I was horrified but how wrong was I? They are now the most useful & comfortable item of gardenfootwear I own! 😄

TSSDNCOP · 28/08/2016 12:42

Order some online, print a picture and glue it in the card.

MeAndMy3LovelyBoys · 28/08/2016 12:42

You should try buying gloves at the end of January...

Minstrelsareyum · 28/08/2016 12:50

M&S of course! Don't think they will be all "granny style" although they can be very comfy and VERY practical!

Catanddogmake6 · 28/08/2016 12:50

Just sheepskin slippers are lovely. No idea how you source in an hour although Debenhams stock them. Amazon Prime same day delivery - can you get them sent to party address?
