that I tan so easily and my DH stays pale?

I am brown skinned and used to be honey toned but now I am more like milk chocolate. We have had one beach holiday but it was not very warm in the water so we didn't swim however despite dripping in Factor 50, I tanned within 10mins of walking around in the shade/sun in a dress. I went back to the hotel and found the honey brown strips around my shoulders where the spaghetti string from my dress were and half of my boobs all dark brown. Meanwhile pale skinned hubby on Factor 15 has only had a tiny hint of of a tan on his arms. Just back from hols in Brighton and it was hot. Again Factor 50 applied frequently but tanned from walking down the beach. Husband - still pale. Uggghh! The frustration is that when I tan - it never goes away and it changes the type of foundation I can wear. Dark skinned women feel my pain - you know how hard it is to get foundation in the right shade and now this means buying and looking for a whole new type. How the heck does Beyonce and Mariah Carey and those caramel skinned divas keep their colour whilst sunbathing? How does Rhinna look the same while spending her life in bikini in the sun? Please please....is there a secret?
