My DH asked his deceased mum's partner (who is 75) to come and help him refit our bathroom. The partner, B, drove from Devon to our home in the New Forest on Sunday.
I have been at work since Sunday night (a 64-hour duty! That's life in the NHS, folks!) and came home this morning to find B working hard in the bathroom and DH is in bed looking at his iPad! What???
It seems that because B is not prepared to do a half-arsed, slap dash job (DH's preferred way of working), DH has had a strop and has left B to get on with it.
Poor B is working so hard - on his knees, up and down the stairs, heavy lifting etc - and I feel mortified that he's been left to it. I asked DH what they had eaten and he said he bought some sausage rolls from Morrissons for him. And not even the bakery ones - the crap Value six pack.
I said I'd make a lasagne tonight so poor B would have a decent (ish) meal after a day of hard work. Mid way through preparing it, DH announces he's driving to Oxford to collect a storage box for his bike (that he hasn't ridden for SEVEN years).
Jesus Christ. I could fucking kill him. Who treats an elderly man like this?
This is not the behavior of a kind man. I think I hate him. AIBU?
