I currently have two nursing jobs, similar-ish roles but one is more clinical and one is more social based.
I had to do additional training for the social based role, so left my clinical job after 12 months of being there - but returned when I'd completed my extra training and have now been working both jobs part-time for almost 2 years.
I love them both for different reasons, but my heart lies with my social job. There are also more benefits to it - like the fact it's 9-5 and there's no shift work, I will be paid more as time goes by and I will have a better work/life balance. I get on well with my colleagues in the social job, but ultimately my biggest social network is in the more clinical job and leaving will probably impact my being invited to events somewhat. I feel pretty sad about that as we're a really close group.
I intend to still do bank work for the clinical job, and so want to put it across to them that I'm not leaving so much as moving away from a set number of contracted hours. I did ask about a month ago to reduce my hours slightly to make my work/life balance better but this was refused (despite it being allowed for others). My manager has gone out of her way to change some of my shifts though when they have been too demanding alongside my other job.
Ultimately I feel guilty on a personal level, and because I have already left this job once before in the past. I'm worried they will think it was a mistake taking me back on because I'm leaving again.
As a side note I'm good employee, never let them down and it's extremely rare I'm off sick (only had 2 days in the past year).
So AIBU to feel bad about leaving (again), or do you think I need to be a bit apologetic in my resignation?
