Just that really. Marmite should only be eaten on toast - not plain bread. I just found out that some people eat it on untoasted bread. Surely that's just wrong.

I often have a scrape of marmite on a slice of cheese. 😋

Marmite and cream cheese sandwiches are amazing so it doesn't need to be on toast. YABU.

Mmm no, YABU, marmite is best on fresh, crusty, thickly buttered bread. I want some now!!

YABU
thick slice of nice bread, thick butter, marmite, = a delicious wholesome snack

I agree with Arf there is no place for marmite in the world. It's weird.

I love marmite but the toast or bread must be buttered!! How on earth do you spread it properly?

Cooked spaghetti stirred into melted butter and marmite is lovely.

I wouldn't eat it on a slice of bread, but I would eat it in a sandwich. I am evidently confused.

Yanbu - marmite on untoasted bread just doesn't taste right. It needs some crunch

My husband puts on far too much marmite. His toast was black with it this morning.

Marmite on buttered toast is food of the Gods.

Dh has his marmite on toast without butter, that is all kinds of wrong! He has now started eating marmite and peanut butter on toast! I believe that constitutes grounds for divorce. If I had my way, peanut butter would be banished from the face of the earth, it's horrible, stinky, gloopy stuff.

Marmite is devils food.
DS1 likes in on bread or roast, but butter is required.
DS2 likes it on bread. If he gets his order in early enough, sans butter. If I get my way, wth butter, otherwise it's a bugger to spread out!!!

Now, Bovril on (buttered) bread or toast. Yummy.

It's nice in a sandwich.

I also like marmite soldiers for boiled eggs, but with bread not toast. I always had it that way and was confused when I realised other people toast their bread to make soldiers. Weird.

SwearyGodmother Oh yes! I make those too! I use the cream cheese instead of butter then have a really thick layer of Marmite. (Well, Sainsbury's own brand stuff, which I prefer. My favourite was Tesco's own brand, but they don't make it anymore. Sad )
