Feel sick
He's worried about physics results
Even at 17 they still look so vulnerable
Fingers crossed

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff Thu 18-Aug-16 09:32:48

Ooh good luck to him! I am an academic and I'm pissing about waiting for the phones to start ringing.

Don't worry, they almost all get sorted out somehow or other flowers

wakeupandsmellthecoffee Thu 18-Aug-16 09:34:40

Not the best
Physics fail
Onwards and upwards
No one died as they say

lilyboleyn Thu 18-Aug-16 09:56:48

Don't worry. I cocked up two of my as but worked bloody hard, did weekly practice essays and got them up to As. Tho maybe that's a moot story if they can't retake modules anymore...?
Onwards and upwards. Can he redo the year? X

Bamboofordinneragain Thu 18-Aug-16 10:00:15

Oh God, Physics...
You know what they say - if it moves, it's Biology; if it smells, it's Chemistry; and if you don't understand it, it's Physics.
And it's such a massive jump from GCSE to AS in that particular subject. My DS was baffled from day one, having done well at GCSE.
Can your DS drop the subject and move on?

wakeupandsmellthecoffee Thu 18-Aug-16 10:00:47

Just hanging around waiting to see what happens next

Babyroobs Thu 18-Aug-16 10:02:50

My ds is delaying going in to get his AS results ! We both think it is going to be bad news. He has already dropped one A'level this year.

Stopyourhavering Thu 18-Aug-16 10:07:23

Ds just got his AS results ....CDD in geography, Physics and Biology.....not great results for applying to Uni in September ....got a lot of work to do now!

wakeupandsmellthecoffee Thu 18-Aug-16 10:07:45

Seriously every kid that's come out of school has failed physics
They've all done badly
It's a good school

Bitofacow Thu 18-Aug-16 10:08:43

Mine wants a lift in at " about 11"

I am going quietly mad.

Gatehouse77 Thu 18-Aug-16 10:28:03

My DS got A for Computing, B for Maths (will retake a couple of papers) and D for Critical Thinking which he couldn't give a toss about!

Bitofacow Thu 18-Aug-16 10:30:29

Still waiting to go..........

Muttering. .......It's not about me its not about me its not about me it's not about me it's not about me

EtTuTuttiFrutti Thu 18-Aug-16 10:32:32

4 B's Physics, Chemistry, Maths , Biology. She's very upset. Waiting for lift to school to see what the boundaries/marks were, as they weren't on line.

Bitofacow Thu 18-Aug-16 10:34:53

He's having a shower, which normally would be good news.

QOD Thu 18-Aug-16 10:35:41

Her boyfriend didn't get his uni place sad

BillThePony Thu 18-Aug-16 10:35:50

wakeupandsmellthecoffee Thu 18-Aug-16 10:36:31

Well still waiting around for school meeting at 12
Costa is quite nice at this time of day
He on the other had is in Subway with his mates
Wish I knew if he could retake or not
This was all new this year due to someone somewhere changing the format of the exam

Bitofacow Thu 18-Aug-16 10:38:00

Only (only!!!) AS ' it will be worse next year.

Nice looooong shower.

It's not about me it's not about me it's not about me

Maisy313 Thu 18-Aug-16 10:39:15

My sister totally screwed her a levels, did a foundation year and ended up with a 1st class degree and a phd in neuro science - he will be fine!

LineyReborn Thu 18-Aug-16 10:42:42

DS refusing to go in. He is sure he has failed Physics.

His sixth form college will email his results through at midday so we'll know then.

EtTu those are good results this year. Seriously. Especially in Physics. The sciences have been a right old mess, what with all the changes.

What worries me is how it is going to affect predicted grades and university offers, though.

EtTuTuttiFrutti Thu 18-Aug-16 10:45:51

It's the total and utter confusion that surrounds these exams that pisses me off.
They've made such a pig's ear out of it , and at the end of the day, every single one of my DD's friends have had their confidence rattled, no matter what the subjects.
