Ooh good luck to him! I am an academic and I'm pissing about waiting for the phones to start ringing.

Don't worry, they almost all get sorted out somehow or other Flowers

Don't worry. I cocked up two of my as but worked bloody hard, did weekly practice essays and got them up to As. Tho maybe that's a moot story if they can't retake modules anymore...?
Onwards and upwards. Can he redo the year? X

Oh God, Physics...
You know what they say - if it moves, it's Biology; if it smells, it's Chemistry; and if you don't understand it, it's Physics.
And it's such a massive jump from GCSE to AS in that particular subject. My DS was baffled from day one, having done well at GCSE.
Can your DS drop the subject and move on?

My ds is delaying going in to get his AS results ! We both think it is going to be bad news. He has already dropped one A'level this year.

4 B's Physics, Chemistry, Maths , Biology. She's very upset. Waiting for lift to school to see what the boundaries/marks were, as they weren't on line.

DS refusing to go in. He is sure he has failed Physics.

His sixth form college will email his results through at midday so we'll know then.

EtTu those are good results this year. Seriously. Especially in Physics. The sciences have been a right old mess, what with all the changes.

What worries me is how it is going to affect predicted grades and university offers, though.

It's the total and utter confusion that surrounds these exams that pisses me off.
They've made such a pig's ear out of it , and at the end of the day, every single one of my DD's friends have had their confidence rattled, no matter what the subjects.

DD2 was told at Warwick that they weren't even going to look at AS level results this year (even in non-linear A2s) because of the move to linear exams and not all schools offering them.
So hopefully the option of redoing it next year it's non-linear and forgetting about it if it doesn't count to his A2.
