Women are always dropping out of plane or doing extreme sports and smiling their head off, like good for you ladies, but lets be honest, I am just looking to eat wispas and not bleed all over my pants hen.

And the scented towels? 'Now you can dance all over someone in a club and your lady garden can smell like pennies and flowers. Thanks always, just what I was going for, move out the way chanel, theres a new player in town.

Aibu to just want an advert that goes, it's here again, want to not flood your keks? Get this in your knicks and go eat a twirl.

YANBU at all. Not everyone wants to be halfway up a mountain looking triumphant whilst honking of Febreeze, and yet still they try to force us. It's a travesty.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Wed 17-Aug-16 10:41:21

There was a Body form one I saw last night that had FAR more detail than necessary!! I hate them.

Writerwannabe83 Wed 17-Aug-16 10:42:06

YANBU - the adverts are so cringeworthy and shit.

I saw one yesterday about a female goal keeper with a voice over who made what sounded like some reference to sexism followed by the caption "Rewrite the Rules" then whizzing across the TV screen which is then shown to be the logo of the sanitary towel packet.

Just utter rubbish.

GipsyDanger Wed 17-Aug-16 10:42:23

The "blue" period blood makes me cringe also

GipsyDanger Wed 17-Aug-16 10:42:53

There must be something wrong with me, my period's never been blue

Writerwannabe83 Wed 17-Aug-16 11:07:06

I wonder if the advertising board is predominantly male as I would hate to think it's actually women coming up with all this drivel grin

mollie123 Wed 17-Aug-16 11:14:20

same with the discreet towels for 'sensitive bladder problems' - makes me cringe - it is not a sensitive bladder it is losing a bit of wee when you laugh or cough and comes with age mostly. shock

ConformationFart Wed 17-Aug-16 11:19:06

I cannot stand the one where the woman is busy being edgy and along comes Mother Nature to spoil her fun. I always think one day love you'll be bloody glad she turned up for you!

MadameCholetsDirtySecret Wed 17-Aug-16 11:19:32

I would love to see a tampon/towel ad written and produced by a nest of mumsnet vipers. grin

ladylambkin Wed 17-Aug-16 11:22:09

Yes what is it with the scented sanitary towels? I just want normal ones and yeah to hopefully not leak all over my pants!

Writerwannabe83 Wed 17-Aug-16 11:27:30

madame - how do you think it should go?? grin

FurkinA Wed 17-Aug-16 11:34:16

I think they are made for the yoof as largely we don't really need to be told about sanitary protection...

Anything positive (despite cringeyness) I welcome

FurkinA Wed 17-Aug-16 11:34:36

Especially as girls give up sports during puberty

blue2014 Wed 17-Aug-16 11:36:29

Yes writer I bloody hate that body form advert. "Do you think because I'm a woman I'll ... (Insert whatever shit she says here)" actually I didn't think anything BECAUSE you are a woman. Stop inferring I'm making sexist judgements about you!! angry

Gives me the rage every single time.

wigglesrock Wed 17-Aug-16 11:57:48

FurkinA I agree with you, the ads aren't my thing, they're twee, eye rollery but my 11 year old does. I think she'll be starting her periods very soon, she's sporty. We've talked about periods, towels, tampons, she has no embarrassment talking to me about her periods or body changes but she likes it when she sees a glossy person from a tv ad goalkeeping/doing gymnastics/ roller skating.

JeanSeberg Wed 17-Aug-16 12:02:09

What about the yoghurt ones? Like it's an actual hobby for most women? There's that awful one 'Book club's better without the books' then they just eat yoghurt.

Fuck off.

UnderslungBowlingBall Wed 17-Aug-16 12:19:49

God I can't STAND that goalkeeper advert. Seriously, there is an issue about girls quitting sports in puberty but no, I'm not assuming anything about you because you're a woman and to assume that I am is not feminism, it's a persecution complex.

Grannypants1 Wed 17-Aug-16 12:36:03

I got caught a week early and lent one off a girl and it was perfumed. Im bleeding and my vajayjay smells like cheap room spray. Is that to put off bears if I go into the woods?

Yes the blue pisses me off. God forbid you allude to actually bleeding when you are trying to sell us what is essentially a bloodnappy

Grannypants1 Wed 17-Aug-16 12:38:45

mollie123 that makes me laugh too. Sensitive bladder makes me think it ready poetry and talk about its feelings.

RoboticSealpup Wed 17-Aug-16 12:46:41

Agree about the yogurt, Jean. All these adverts depicting women 'indulgently treating themselves' to some sour-tasting low-fat slosh has put me off ever eating yogurt. So many assumptions are made. Women always think they are fat and want to lose weight, but they still want 'yummy treats' because they are basically children. Here, eat this cold, zero-calorie goo packed with artificial sweeteners and pretend it's ice cream, there's a good girl!

Aphroditeisasexybeast Wed 17-Aug-16 13:13:28

Pretty sure the scented ones cause thrush and they give off a funky smell after half hour makes me worry people think I'm unhygienic and know I'm on very embarrassing

MajesticSeaFlapFlap Wed 17-Aug-16 13:19:43

I want a woman sat on the sofa in a snuggie eating her way though a share bag of crisps.
her partner comes in "do you want a coffee?" he tentatively asked
"FUCK OFF YOU BASTARD" she yells
"Ok" he says meekly "that's fine ill just make myself one"
"That was clearly a yes please" she says bursting into tears and rubbing her tummy.

Writerwannabe83 Wed 17-Aug-16 13:28:02

I want to see a woman with a bloated tummy, spots on her face, suffering from a migraine and who is also obviously having painful cramps be offered some scented towels which she then throws full force at the camera and screams, "No fucking rewritten rules or lilac scented pads is going to fucking make this any more bearable!!"

Aphroditeisasexybeast Wed 17-Aug-16 13:55:06

Sorry about irrelevant post didn't read thread properly I hate the woman going down the slide in a water park I wouldn't dare do that in case of leakage
