AIBU?

To think this is not just a hangover?

I went out last night and admittedly had a lot to drink.

Maybe 1/2 bottle of wine, then onto the gin/vodka. I'm pretty used to drinking and go out a couple of times per month.

Today, I don't have real hangover symptoms (eg headache) but my stomach is SO upset. I have been sick constantly today and can't keep anything down. All I can do is lay still and occasionally sip water.

AIBU to think this is more than a hangover and that my drink may have been spiked? I can remember the night but have never been sick after drinking before.

Just sounds like a standard beeriod to me!

It's unlikely you were spiked.

It's more likely that you drank more than you thought and are paying the price today.

You have my sympathy though. I am actually dead today (two bottles of wine last night...).

Or you have an upset stomach? It happens.

I haven't had a hangover in a long time but when I do I always suffer with vomiting and cannot tolerate anything until I've slept it off.

Maybe your body is changing the way it deals with too much booze?

Sounds normal to me, they develop into new found levels of hell as you get older

I've had my drink spiked, it is nothing like a hangover was lucky not to have anything happen to me I could not function within five minutes of having it, have no recollection of collapsing in the toilet, wetting myself, vomiting all over myself and spending three days in what was utter hell of memory confusion and what felt like a hangover on steroids - not saying everyone experiences of being drugged are like that but that's my experience.

I think you just have a hangover Sad

Any chance you are getting a migraine?

My last (distant, thankfully) hangover merged with my PMT migraines......
Shock
Suffice to say that was the last drink I've had.

Sorry to ask this OP but how old are you?

I found that as I got older, and in particular past 40, my hangovers became totally unmanageable. Up all night with the shits, unable to barely get out of bed the next day, feeling sick and just dreadful. Day two marginally better but still feeling nauseous and pretty feeble.

I hate not being able to drink professionally normally any more but I can't risk more than about two glasses of wine Sad

They get worse as you get older. I used to be able to sink a lot but even 3 beers and I feel it the next day. It just isn't worth it.

Sounds like the hangovers I usually have.

Ask GP if a liver function test would be appropriate ?

My hangovers are like that. Throwing up every 15 minutes on an empty stomach. It's rubbish, but normal (for me). Keep having teeny sips of water, it will pass eventually.

Hangover for sure.

All of the things it potentially could be have the same cure - try to drink water, wait it out.

How old are you?
There does come a time when your body just can't process the alcohol like it used to...
Try some rehydration solution
Hope you feel better soon

What can happen sometimes is that if your stomach is a little irritated anyway and you have a drink the alcohol aggravates it and gets in the lining and you can end up with a really dodgy stomach. Happened to me after a holiday in Greece once.

sounds like food poisoning?

This is why I don't drink anymore, I just can't handle the following day, I feel jittery/dizzy, sick, hot and oddly have heavy feelings of guilt - even though I'd done nada wrong.

As PP said it just is not worth it.

It will pass. Good luck for today Flowers

Alka Seltzer or Resolve. Plenty of water. It'll pass.

Alka Seltzer or Resolve

Can you still get Resolve? I thought they had discontinued it?

Definitely hangover, I'd say. The magic switch will have flicked by 6pm: see if it doesn't!!

Hangover guilt. I get that too. It's awful.
I'm never sick so I'd be surprised by a pukey hangover, but it's probably what it is.
Sometimes they can just take a different turn, especially if you mixed your drinks.
You have my sympathy OP. I'm pretty rough today too.

I had my drink spiked and was out of it like crazy. I was sick once the following morning then slept on and off for about two days. I think you have a combination of wine/gin/vodka poisoning! It'll pass Grin

That unfortunately is what my hangovers are like now. Ice lollies help.
