My friends daughter (11) has a You Tube account and she posts videos of herself and sometimes her smaller sibling (7) just doing silly challenges etc. This in itself is fine my dd also does, however my friends dd has used her full name as her user name (quite unusual as its double barrelled). Also in 1 video she is wearing her school jumper (though she's left that school now)
My main concern is that if you google her name all her videos come up and that could lead to bullying maybe? She's a pretty sensitive child so it would really upset her.
I'm not sure whether to mention it to my friend and maybe upset her if she already knows (she'll think I'm judging her) or whether to butt out?
BTW my friend does know about the account as she mentioned it to my dd, but unsure whether she is monitoring it.

Why would anyone do this? If the mum knows then I dunno what you can do, but I wouldn't let my child have a YouTube account and I'm a very relaxed parent Confused
My dc just make their videos and show them to me/ their friends directly , not post them. Who wants to watch that anyway?
Maybe tell the school ?

We had this issue at work (teacher) and we spoke to the child and the parent and advised that the videos should be taken down. It's not only the safety aspect it's also that those videos will be around forever and probably come up on goggle searches in future. Probably not what they want in adult life.
