OH has the potential for a promotion on the other side of the country. This will mean me going on mat leave at 29 weeks, and moving my 3 year old to a new town 2 months ish before I am due. Are we crazy?

Not if you want to go. The only issue I would see would be that it could feel lonely/isolating?

23 years ago, I moved from Manchester to Chichester, whilst pregnant with dd1.
I had no regrets, lots of visitors and everything was fine

8 years ago I moved to the Netherlands when I was 7 months pregnant. All was fine, and is fine!

I moved the same sort of distance when I was 9 months pregnant - moved on the Tuesday, booking in appt with the MW on the Wednesday, dd arrived at 10am on the Thursday! It felt fairly crazy at the time, but it worked out really well. Having a newborn is a great way of getting out and meeting people!
Good luck Flowers

Join a local NCT class to meet some local parents to be, but if you're up for it, why not? Probably easier when preggers rather than when newborn arrived!

Also think of the long term opportunities for your family rather than the short term upheaval!

I'm currently enroute to Sydney for London and 27 weeks! Stressful but can be done with a lot of organising and professionals to do the heavy lifting

I moved back to the uk from Canada at 7 mos. in fact, thinking about it, I've moved countries twice when pg. much easier than moving with babies and/ or toddlers... and little people are a great way of making new friends.

I moved house and locations on all 3 of my pregnancies at 5 months, 7 months and 38 weeks. They were all tough slogs but worth it as they were good moves.

Not crazy. I moved to Norway at 5 months pregnant and an 18month old. Now 8 years later, and life is better than it would have been.

Ok. Phew. We moved 250 miles away when my first was 1 year old so I have some experience of starting again. Just the idea of being pregnant this time makes it seem much harder. Thank you for your replies.

It's a perfect time to move. You will be able to meet new people pretty easily through your DCs and their activities.
