AIBU?

About the stench?

We're off to a garden party this afternoon. Fairly free and easy but lots of contact with other people etc.

DH, in his infinite wisdom Hmm, had curry for lunch and dinner yesterday and decided this morning that onion bhajias were the breakfast of choice. It's a warm and sunny day and he's already starting to sweat. He stinks.

He doesn't think he's done anything wrong. WIBU.

Tell him he smells, so he has a shower?

But yabu. I wouldn't think I'd done anything wrong by having indian food three meals in a row. I'd think I was very very wise. Because it's tasty.

He's had 3 showers, used his smelliest shower gel, drank milk, brushed his teeth. I've told him he smells, DCs have told him he smells, he knows he smells.

He hasn't done anything wrong.

You would be unreasonable to stick him up in a tree, out of the way of other guests - but as long as you don't do anything like that I'd say you'll both be fine.

Maybe the other guests will reek of alcohol, or sardine sandwiches, and they will cancel each other out.

It's outside...

It will be fine.

But bajhis for breakfast? The man is a culinary God. WHY have I never thought of this?

Get some of those car air fresheners and hang them from his appendages.

Dress him in green and pretends he's a compost bin?

If you dress up as something you could say you thought it was a costume party.

Report
Smartieskid · 06/08/2016 13:47

Make him go dressed as an onion bhajjas

Onion bhajiis and fried eggs used to be my hangover choice of breakfast.

Bit confused as to why he smells after showering and using deodorant and brushing his teeth etc - is this normal? DH doesn't smell like that. Your DH is obviously weird. LTB Grin

Sorry but I'm failing to understand why he still smells if he's showered and brushed his teeth.

curry spices when eaten frequently seep out in the sweat .You end up being flavoured by them

Curry and onion smells permeate your skin and sweat, you can't just wash them away in a shower or with a toothbrush.

You'll be outside. It won't be noticeable. Stop being mean to the poor man and enjoy your afternoon.

Bhajis and samosas compose a fabulous breakfast. I bid my fellow gourmet welcome!

I always think that people who smell of spices smell nice. There are popular perfumes on the market that smell rank in comparison.

You will be outside, so if he smells it will be less noticable. If there is a BBQ that will drown his curry smell.
Just make sure that you don't stand next to him, in case people think that it's you who smells! Wine Wine

I'm sure everyone will get over it.

Do none of you socialise, work or generally mix with people from other countries/cultures who regularly eat this sort of food?

It's not nice when it's stale on the breath or being sweated out through pores, but if everyone made that much fuss no-one could ever manage a simple commute to work for example.

He's done nothing wrong. All the man done was eat Confused

I struggle to believe he smells because he ate a curry. If he really does a shower and clean clothes will soon sort it out
