Neighbour throwing turds

Our neighbour has been throwing cat shit across the fence into our garden. It started about a month ago when I was hanging washing out on the line and was hit in the face by a bit of cat shit thrown across from the neighbours garden. Admittedly, I should have said something about it at the time but was pretty shocked and preoccupied with getting my face clean!

Since then, we've had a growing collection of cat turds gather by the adjoining fence- it's not fresh iyswim so definitely not been laid there by a cat. After not taking the opportunity to say something the first time DP and I were waiting to 'catch them in the act' before saying something, but this morning I've gone into the garden and there are about ten turds glistening in the light scattered around the bottom of the fence; some delicately balanced atop our thyme plant and a few on the bench by the fence- there are hundreds of bluebottles making themselves at home. I've no doubt that the neighbour has chucked them over being annoyed at finding shit in his garden.

We have two cats that we rescued in November. They are outdoor cats but have plenty of space to do their business in our garden, which they take full advantage of. There are lots of cats in the area and we often have some do a business visit our garden too. The neighbours have a cat as well- although I haven't seen it for a couple of months so it might no longer be with them.

I know not everyone likes cats and it's not nice to have cat shit in your garden- but I feel like throwing shit into someone else's garden is petty and rude especially considering there are a number of cats in the area (possibly including theirs), and it's quite possible the turds don't belong to our cats.

Wibu to say go round and say something to them today or am I completely in the wrong for being annoyed by this?

Yuck! Definitely go round and say something but also offer to deal with the cat shit problem. Your cats are probably responsible for some of the shit. Your neighbour is dealing with it in a ridiculous fashion. Go round and offer to buy some of those products that scare cats away or something

That is disgusting Envy

Do say something. Even if it was your cats doing it, it's still disgusting to flick it over the fence.

Dispose of it in the bloody bin if you have already picked it up!

You didn't say anything when hit in the face with a flying cat shit?

If that's not the moment to say something I don't know what is.

Chuck it back!

Have you considered batting them back, whiff-whaff style?

I'm with Movingon... I would've ended it right then and there!

Wasn't there a thread about this recently where the OP was saying they were going to throw the cat poo into neighbours garden?

Cats are legally allowed to roam and poo wherever they please. You live in an area densely populated with cats. They cannot possibly know the poo is all from your cats unless they sit there watching all day, the sad losers

They either need to get over it, or move somewhere a top floor tenement with no cats.

I would seriously call 101 if someone threw shit in my face.

Definitely throw it back.

You were hit in the face with shit...and didn't say anything?!?! I don't understand. Even if you cleaned yourself up first I would have been hammering on the door hollering like a fiahwife straight after.

If your cats are shitting in their garden then they are quite within their rights to throw it back over.

I disagree. They threw shit at her face!

If there are a lot of cats (including their own!!) how can they know it was the OP's cat who shit?

Unless they sit and watch all day, they can't know that

Why the fuck have you said nothing when you've been hit in the face by shit?!

Fence your garden to keep your cats in and everyone else's cats out. Simple solution and I really don't understand why more people don't do it.

Cats climb fences...

Report
happypoobum · 06/08/2016 12:41

ingenious there are by laws about the maximum height fences can be. Most able bodies cats can scale them easily.

Gather them all up and put them in a gift box with bows and return to your neighbour.

Agree with others there would have ripped arseholes if someone threw cat shit at my face.

My cat hops up onto the top of our 6ft fence in a single effortless bound. Unless I fully roofed the garden, which I imagine contravenes planning law, there's not much I can do.

Oh and yes, ask them to stop throwing cat shit. The dirty buggars.
