OK, so after a genuinely lovely birth I have been referred for surgery to fix the two lumps hanging out of my arse.
The referral is taking its sweet time to come through and in the meantime I swear to god, the pain is worse than anything birth-related, it's like shitting a mace.

My fears are many and crippling: what is the surgery like? I'm guessing bloody painful, and few options for pain relief afterwards if I'm breastfeeding? How long is the recovery time in general? My partner has to leave the country to do his visa, so he'll be gone for at least 3 weeks - is it even vaguely realistic to think I'll be able to take care of our son alone if the surgery happens during this time? And dear Christ, is there ANYTHING I can do to stop the pain even a little bit? Have tried Anusol, hot baths, stool softeners...the magic steroid suppositories from the Gp were the only thing to help but I couldn't have them for long because of breast...Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!

Any help gratefully received. Thank you!

They're likely thrombosed.... Very painful Blush, I got some sort of mild anaesthetic in suppository form that you kept in the fridge (unfortunately can't remember the name of it) for my pp ones (also fine with BF) they were actually unbelievable no pain at all until I got them sorted
