AIBU?

To potentially make DH very ill?

I realise there is a similar themed thread here, must be food hygiene day.

Anyway, I cooked a chicken on Thursday afternoon. Switched the oven off when it was ready and left it in there (one of those cook in the bag ALDI special bad boys).

We went away for the weekend and I totally forgot about it until now.

AIBU to test it on DH to see if it's edible? DH things it probably is, so is sort of consenting. He's also left his bastarding socks on the floor next to the laundry basket again, for me to collect and wash presumably. As such, I feel his life is expendable at the moment.

I have very lax food hygiene habits but wouldn't feed this to anyone!

No definitely not

Although maybe I would if he'd left his bastarding socks next to the laundry basket. Go for it.

Not unless you want him dead. 😅

I wouldnt. You will probably end up needing to visit him in hospital, and that's more of a ball ache than picking up his socks.
Also. Don't pick up his socks. Let them gather till he has none clean and then point out you only wash stuff that's in the basket.

I was going to say no way but then I read the about the socks. Yes, let him have it.

omg absolutely no. It's been unrefrigerated for nearly 3 days - even if it was in fridge it would have to be chucked tonight

God, no!!

I'm a bit paranoid about food safety but surely by anyone's standards that's a very bad idea!

Forget the picking the socks up
He'll be too busy throwing up
No
Don't do it
Well he can if he takes full responsibility for his actions

Im extremely relaxed about these things but even I would be tipping that straight into the bin.

Overnight, yes. Weekend, no!

SaucyJack · 31/07/2016 20:46

Nah. You'd probably be fine doing it in January, but it's a bit much to do it this time of year.

Flossiesmummy · 31/07/2016 20:46

If either of you eat it then that's just natural selection at work Grin

EsmeraldaEllaBella · 31/07/2016 20:46

God no!!!!! I wouldn't even eat it after that long even if it had been in the fridge!!!!

I normally say yes to these type of threads. I'm going to say no to this one. Then I'm going to say.....oh hell no!

Absolutely not unless you want to win a Darwin award.

How can you forget that you cooked a chicken?

I'm assuming this is a joke since it could actually kill him... but just in case, no, don't do it, you could actually kill him!

Jeez, no chance.

No. No way. If in any doubt why, I suggest you pierce the bag & smell the chicken. It won't be appetising.

Seems DH is a manky fecker then. Not only is he a lazy sock leaving bastard, but also a mouldy chicken lover.

He says it'll be ok, because it's been in a bag, hence forth sterile as urine ConfusedHmm
