AIBU to wring my neighbour's sons neck

Went outside 30 minutes ago and heard someone banging around in the garden next to mine, empty property, looked out of the upstairs window and could see a young man in a hoodie with the hood up. He came and went 2-3 times. Ok don't panic, but I live on my own. On one side I have the empty house and on the other a single mum with a late teenage boy. So thought I would do the right thing and ring the police.
Just after I had put the phone down the young man pilled his hood back, it is only NDN son.
I have been round and told him he nearly gave me a heart attack and in his defence he apologised and looked pretty sheepish. He was acquiring some bricks from the derelict house to make a BBQ.
What the hell am I going to say to the police when they turn up???

Why on earth was he wearing a hoodie in this weather? And why would he have his hood up? Was he trying to conceal his identity?

I'd just tell the police the truth, let them take it from there. If they actually turn up, that is.

According to is mum he lives in the hoodie. He is actually a really nice young man. I assume he didn't think that at 10 o'clock he would be heard or seen. Technically he was nicking the bricks but the house has been empty for 3 years that we know of

Anyway, it sounds like he's old enough to know he's done wrong.
Just tell the police what you saw.

I did call the police, spoke to a lovely guy who had a laugh about it.
