I'm not rich, far from it, minimum wage 25hours a week
Always wanted a radley picture bag but can't really afford it
Saw it reduced, £229 to £123
Decided to break the bank and buy it, 3 days after it arrives it was reduced to £113 grrrrr
Rang customer services they said they can't refund the difference but I can reorder and return, so I did
Now it's down to £103
Shall I reorder and return again??!! This is getting silly, but I paid on my credit card and every £10 off helps!!
I've got the balance down to £40so if I do it again I'll only owe £30 on my credit card
What would you do???!!!! Don't want to get black balled!!!

If the customer service person advised you to do it once then go for it again!

Good bargain hunting!!

If you're so strapped for cash you're contemplating returning a half price but still expensive bag to whittle a further £10 off it, I would suggest that you should be saving your money.

For all you know, the store could incrementally reduce the price of the bag down to £50. Are you going to keep returning it if that happens?

I'm so tempted, I mean it's free delivery and free returns so I just have to pop it back to the post office and voila £10 richer, that's nearly an hour and a half stood at work to earn that

Go for it! I would do the same.

I did this several times with a dress, it was a bit ridiculous but I got a £160 dress for £37. I think I returned and reordered twice.

If you are that strapped for cash is buying a handbag your best use of money?

You could buy a much nicer one and be able to pay off your whole credit card! Radley bags are horrible, in my (unwanted!) opinion

I did it twice with my bridesmaid dresses!

I'm not skint, but not rich, I can afford the bag but it's extravagant lets just say
It just annoys me that I've paid more for it than I had to

VeryBitchyRestingFace Not just your resting face that's bitchy, huh?

OP, if customer services told you to do it then do it. Or maybe wait a few days and see if it drops again. Grin

Depends how disappointed you'll be if it goes out of stock between you returning and reordering I guess also.

Why buy a bag if you are in debt, wouldn't you be better learning to live within your means? I don't think I've ever spent more than a tenner on a bag, but have no credit cards or debts.

Good idea though, but it's not saving you any money. Only not buying it in the first place will do that.

VeryBitchyRestingFace Not just your resting face that's bitchy, huh?

No beginning to your witty repartee, is there?

I'm suggesting a possible situation that may occur. This mark down could only be the start of it. It may end substantially reduced more. Will that irk you if it happens, OP? Will you want to return it if there are further mark downs?

Lornathewizzard, I can order first wait for it to arrive then return, I would be devastated if I didn't have the bag, I've had second hand picture bags from eBay but it's just not the same as finally owning my own brand new one!
I know lots of people hate radley but that's not the question, I love it especially the tacky picture bags and the little doggy, queen of bad taste:)

Don't think I even know what a Radley bag looks like. Confused

Verybitchy, that's my concern, where will this end!! How many times can I do this, but I'm such a bargain hunter, I buy everything in the sales and always look for bargains, I feel annoyed I've spent more than I had to

That's good they allow you to do that, a lot of places will only refund you the sale price. I think I'd have to do what you're doing, it would P me off too much otherwise.

I don't have debts, just one credit card which I pay off every month, so when I get paid next it would only cost me £30 to clear it rather than £40
And I have a years wages saved in the bank so I'm not going hungry to buy a bag! It's just extravagant for someone on my income

Just make sure you have enough credit on your 'credit card' to purchase 3 bags.. although purchases go through almost instantly refunds can take up to 7 days to be processed.

In theory you will have three purchases debiting your card prior to the refunds going through if you do all of this within a few days of each other.

If you can't enjoy it without feeling annoyed that you could have saved £10 if you'd waited a week or £20 if you'd waited a fortnight I would just return it and buy a cheaper bag.

It might start a mumsnet riot of how ugly the bag is!! But I love it :)

I do this all the time and suspect it's a common thing. I'm always gutted if I've used the item and it's then reduced further and can't return and rebuy!
