AIBU to think Boris J being made Foreign Secretary is analogous to ....

Fingers crossed it'll do the trick as we can't afford the alternative.

My German teacher was polyglot of Europe one year, speaking over 20 languages.

Not sure that qualifies him for the role.

I'm not so sure about him being fluent in Russian, as he only says about three Russian words in that clip. I'm sure Ancient Greek and Latin will come in super useful ... And Welsh will be useful when negotiating the split of the U.K. Which he helped cause.

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

He has to stand by the collective decisions of the Cabinet or quit. Give someone a high power job and they can't complain about the team - unless they want to do a Heseltine.
