Primary school classes

DD went to a day nursery (ie from 9am - 6pm while I was at work) before she started school, she was very happy there. 5 of the girls she was friendly with moved from the nursery to the same school. The school is double entry, DD has been in a reception class with 1 of the others from nursery. Next year they have mixed up the classes and all 4 of the other girls from nursery are in the same class, while she's on her own. These classes will be set for years 1-6, they won't change again.

I can't work out if IWBU to say something about this? She's an outgoing girl with lots of friends, but these are her closest friends. And even her school report says she likes to play with her close friends (presumably these girls).

If she's at the end of her reception year, who she went to nursery with is far less important than who she has made friends with in the past year.

So yes, check with the school about your assumption that her best friends in school are the nursery girls.

I'd second Meditrina's advice to check that these girls really are her closest friends, but would also discuss my concerns with the school.
Similar happened to my DD after reception. Her best friends were moved into another class and she was left with a group of girls who had already formed a clique.
Two years later and these girls will still not acknowledge her and let her into their friendship group and have started picking on her too.
She's now moving to another school.
Obviously that's worst case scenario, but it's happened to us.
