AIBU?

AIBU to go to Beyonce's @ Wembley concert, a day before the school run?

Hi;

So my friend got an extra ticket to go to Beyonce's concert at Wembley tomorrow!

Though I'm not sure if I want to go as I have to take DS to school and wake him up really early and get everything sorted and whatnot. My mum has offered to look after him while I go to the concert tomorrow, but obviously I would still have to go back and collect, (DS school is too far from my mum's so she won't be able to take him).

As I would love to go; I guess I sadly have to pass this up. What would you other parents do?

Depends how much you want to go I guess. Could your son stay over at your mums and you go and collect him early monday morning to take him to school? Or would your mum look after him at her house?

I don't really get this.

Why on earth would going to a concert on Sunday be impacted by your kid going to school on Monday?

I would go. I function on little sleep all day for a crying baby so I definitely would for Beyonce. You will be tired for a day - I don't see what the dilemma is. Depends how worth it that is for you.

Seems like a no brainer. You'll be a bit tired taking your son to school in the morning. Unless there's more to this than you're saying then i honestly can't see a problem.

Well my DD1 is going tomorrow... then has to get back to Plymouth where she is a junior doctor at work on Monday... so needs rather more wits about her than perhaps the school run :)

If you like Beyonce , go!

If your son is in primary or anyway not doing exams, does it matter. FFS go to the concert.

Do you mean you'd have to pick your son up late at night after the concert from your mum's?

If you think you can't go because you'll be a bit tired the next day, sounds like you don't want to go that much....

I don't understand the problem Confused

You presumably managed with far less sleep when DS was a baby, and this is only one night of getting in late

Not nearly enough info for anyone to comment, an idea of where you live might help. If it's Scotland maybe not a good idea.

And what do you mean by a day before the school run, do you need more that a day to prepare?

I'm not seeing the problem either. Do you just mean you'll be a bit tired? Or will you have to wake your DS in the middle of the night?

I went on Thursday in Cardiff, travelled 2 hours home, got home at 2:45am and did the school run the next day. My DH was at home with DC though, so didn't have to pick them up from anywhere etc.

It was an amazing concert! Worth being tired the next day. Sorry if that doesn't help at all!

I've read this twice and still don't understand the problem.

No clue what the problem is?

Do you have to go straight to work from the school run?

I did it; I went to the one on Tues in Sunderland. I was at work the next day. I don't understand the issue; go! It's amazing x

You're making excuses, go have some fun, and just go to bed early on Monday.

It's the day BEFORE the school run. ummm are you Beyonce, if not then why would going to watch a concert be linked to dropping a child to school?

Either I'm missing the point or you've missed out the actual AIBU? Hmm
It's the day before. Just go and have fun.

How late would you be? What do you have to do on Monday?
Do you like Beyonce?

Is it that you associate going to gigs with drinking? Because that's the only thing I can see being the problem. I've got up and gone to work the day after many gigs and actually I have drunk at them just not over my own limit, so not even really been hung over. If you can't just don't drink! Or just have one.

Otherwise the only thing I can see is your going oh it's a late night I might be tired. Again I've got up for work. Actually the majority of the audience will be getting up on Monday morning for either work or to get their kids to school. I don't see the problem.
