To think a sty isn't that bad

I haven't had one in a while. But my sister is acting like its the same as severe toothache.

There not that bad right? Just hot compress a couple of times to pop the puss out and get on with life.

I have had them and found it throbbed like toothache when I bent over at all.

I had one thay was on the inside of my eye, scratched my eye to hell, and was absolute agony until it popped.

I get them on my lower lid it can feel like my eyeball is going to pop not being dramatic honest but they can hurt

I've had a couple that weren't too bad and one that really fucking hurt.

Why don't you believe you sister when she says she's in pain?

DS2 had surgery under general anaesthetic when he was 2.5 years old to remove his sty.
Have some empathy OP.

To be fair they do hurt. I had one which made my eye swell up, it was so painful I went to the doctors and was told I'm allergic to mascara so I went out and spent shit loads on hypoallergenic eye make up, then my nurse sister had a look and almost pissed herself laughing when she pointed out it was just a sty.

Fucking hurt that one did!

I've had ones that feel as painful as a punch every time I blinked and I'm not exaggerating, after a few days I looked like I had a black eye. It was infected and needed antibiotics.

Depends on how severe they are. DD had one when she was 3 and it was awful - it looked as if she had been punched very hard in her eye. She had to take some really strong antibiotics and it was weeping pus and blood before it exploded. It was pretty bad.

Depends how bad. My first and only one which I got this year actually covered my pupil and was affecting my vision

I get blurry vision from mine too i was really not well begining of the year and got 2

I got one and it was horrendous. Very very swollen, red and affecting my vision. I worked as a pub supervisor and said I didn't want to work as it was painful and embarrassing and I was trying to get an appointment with my GP. My boss was a bit annoyed and said he was pissed off as it wasn't a big deal. MY GP surgery was next door so went in to show my boss. He was shocked. My GP said she'd never seen one that bad. She wanted to send me to A&E but I had no one to mind my baby. Luckily it went down quite rapidly. I've had them since and they're always very sore. Never that big though.

I don't find them massively painful but they make me thoroughly miserable. I only get them when I'm very run down so I usually feel emotionally and physically like crap when I get one
