Posting for traffic sorry!

Hopefully someone can give me an idea of what this is..

Every now and then, throughout tonight, when baby is being active, I'm getting a sharp shooting pressure pain in my bottom [emoji15] and sometimes in my mini too..

I've not had any signs of labour such as plug loss, waters break or braxton hicks.. But have had diarrhoea and insomnia.

What do you think is happening, if anything?
Maybe it's baby getting lower and engaging?

Thanks xx

How many weeks are you??

Have you googled 'fanny daggers'?! Grin

Could be increased pressure on your cervix? Especially if the pains only happen when baby is moving.

Make sure you don't get dehydrated if you've has diarrhoea as that can bring on contractions/pains

Could well be the baby "dropping", and now because he/she is closer to the exit route, your cervix and back passage can get head butted Confused I used to say to my husband that my Dd felt like she was going to fall out of my bum, and that I had "shooty fanny pain" Hmm

That describes it perfectly!! Grin Thanks! I never heard feeling pressure in your bottom was normal before today! Blush

Lou if I'm honest, immense pressure in my bum is the feeling I remember most from labour - not the pain! Literally felt like Dd was coming out of my bum like a gigantic poo, rather than my fanjo Confused

Oh wow MyBreadIsEggy Blush😅 I hope this isn't labour yet! I'm not ready even though I keep moaning that I am! I don't think it is because baby is very quiet now with the occasional twinge!

Keeping me on my toes Grin

I get shooting pains like that in my bum during my period when I go to poo. It's so bad I actually start sweating and want to cry. Luckily it's just in the first day or so but I also need to go more often so it's a double edged sword.

Proctalgia Fugax (a variant of levator ani syndrome) is a severe, episodic, rectal and sacrococcygeal pain. It can be caused by cramp of the levator ani muscle, particularly in the pubococcygeus.

^ Does this sound familiar OP?

Keeping well hydrated can help, as can walking.

Craving to eat ice can be a sign of anaemia by the way.

Thanks! Had a phone call from MW yesterday to say I'm borderline anemic!
