The political system in the UK seems to be in utter chaos.

Surely this is a time for the Queen to step up and 'steady the ship'.

We're.alawaya told that she is a constant through times of crisis and I really think as a nation we could do with some calming words from our head of.state.

Doesn't have to be political but something surely??

Probably. Why wouldn't she want out? She's rich enough to weather any storm, not long for the world personally anyway, and it gives her family potentially more authority and a bigger role in politics. The people wanting the "good old days" back count the royal family as part of it all.

Meanwhile she's not just some sweet old lady - she's the embodiment of an unfair class system which helps put rich boys ahead in UK politics, and was somewhat moderated under the EU.

And to answer your question OP: I am wondering where the Queen is, too. She could easily say a few platitudes about unity and British values of tolerance or some such bollocks. I really think it would have a calming effect.

No, she wouldn't. But she'll probably be very proud to go down in history as the Monarch during whose reign the people of the UK voted to leave the Sinking Ship that is the EU before it dragged us further down with it, kicking and screaming into an 'Ever Closer Union'. She'll be proud that over half of us have enough faith in our ability to govern our country, make our own laws and not be frightened into remaining in a system that does not work for us.
