AIBU?

To be annoyed at DH's attitude? (Brexit!)

I openly voted to stay. Long discussions about it, DH said he agreed too.

A lot of disgusting drivel spewed from DHs family in the last recent weeks with regards to it (whom all voted to leave) due to 'keeping the Muslims out, keeping Britain white, stopping the rapists from coming here, stopping the law to force us all to wear hijabs, British flag will be banned, Syria Muslims will come here and murder us all' etc etc and other ridiculous fucking horse shit that I'm frankly sick with, as is DH.

DH has now said he panicked at the poling station and decided to do 'eeny meeny miny moe', the pencil landed on leave, so he just put a cross there.

2 of our very close friends for many, many years are from foreign countries who are worried. I'm worried for them as is DH.

He said it makes no difference what so ever how he voted and can't understand why I'm miffed. He said the whole thing is a pile of shit and I should stop talking to him about. He openly said as we were parking the car to vote that he was voting to stay.

This is not a leave V stay thing. Some of my friends (who I love dearly) voted to leave. It's a wonderful thing that we can and do vote but I honestly don't understand DH right now Confused

I'm not sure I understand why you're pissed off at your dh if it isn't a leave vs remain thing.

I voted remain. Your dh is not responsible for us leaving the eu.

This would piss me off mightily too. In essence, your DH has just owned up to being too stupid to think through a vote on a matter of huge national and international importance. I guess if you'd known he was that stupid you probably wouldn't have married him!

purple Because it's his attitude about it that's pissing me off.

If he was dithering in the voting booth it sounds like he wasn't as surely landed in the remain camp as you thought he was. Is there any chance he found your strong remain views intimidating and didn't want to say what he really thought?

To be honest, I'm not sure what there is to gain in going on at him about it now.

You married someone who didn't bother to research or think things through. YANBU to be pissed off with him.

I don't have strong remain views and I am by far the least intimidating person on this planet! You'd actually laugh if you met me. He has led the 'leave conversation' more than me, which is why I am so miffed.

To add, when I say 'leave conversation', he's been telling me all the reasons why he thinks we shouldn't - just to clarify!

It's his vote to do what he likes with.

Your op about his family sounds familiar crap slung at leavers though. Hmm

Of course it's his vote save, I didn't say otherwise.

Agree with the crap slinging too.

Sounds to me like the 'eeny meeny miny moe' thing is just an excuse for why he voted the way he did. He was probably just afraid to tell you his real opinion before hand and sounds like he was right. Respect his opinion and stop nagging him to do what you want.

Sounds very passive aggressive!

Stupidity is very unattractive. Not so much stupid for which option he chose, but for the ridiculous way he went about it.

Oh FGS, Europeans who are here and have jobs will not be affected! There is still a freedom to movement of labour. Foreigners can come here to do jobs. I voted leave but I am not a xenophobe, I am quite happy for people to come and work in the UK, especially skilled doctors and nurses and teachers etc. They make our country great. But those that want to come here just to claim and take up precious school places and not work or pay tax, well they should basically fuck off.

Peach - can you please point out the bit where I'm nagging him?

Passive aggressive? Hahaha
