Who even says vile in RL?

LassWiTheDelicateAir Sat 25-Jun-16 17:59:06

I say vile in real life. I have friends who use it too. I use it quite often. Of late it has been with reference to Trump and Farage; in the past Alex Salmond and Tommy Sheridan have been described as vile. (Nb they still are, just not as highly visible)

Ive heard vile used in RL. Something I have heard occassionally in RL but all the time on mn is popping. It seems to be the go to verb. Pop in, pop out, pop up to the shops, or down, pop the kettle on...

LassWiTheDelicateAir Sat 25-Jun-16 18:05:20

My husband uses it a lot with reference to Trump et al

Jenesaberpas Sat 25-Jun-16 18:05:51

I would say it's "goady"

Posters do like to pop on MN. They also like to use the word 'super' They are often super excited.

I just used it on a different forum with regard to what was fished out of a swimming pool while people were swimming 😱

I say vile in RL. Usually referring to DH's gassy emissions

AppleSetsSail Sat 25-Jun-16 18:11:15

It's overused. I agree.

LassWiTheDelicateAir Sat 25-Jun-16 18:14:05

"goady" is overused.

That is a word I have never heard in real life or seen other than on here.

DramaAlpaca Sat 25-Jun-16 18:14:20

I say vile quite a lot in RL. I say pop as well. I don't say super though.

I agree that vile is quite often goady on MN.

WorraLiberty Sat 25-Jun-16 18:15:35

I've noticed the 'super' thing too, creeping in a lot grin

Super annoying, super excited, super hungry etc...

I've heard vile used a lot in RL, but it's normally that something tastes vile.

Rude is another over used MN word.

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Sat 25-Jun-16 18:16:42

I used it in RL yesterday.

I think I might have used it on MN before as well. Only once or twice though.

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes Sat 25-Jun-16 18:16:53

Yep. Also over used are Entitled, toxic and my all time hatevourite Wow. Just wow.

MyLlamasGoneBananas Sat 25-Jun-16 18:17:01

I use vile in rl. Why wouldn't I? It's a normal word.

I try to switch for an alternative just for mn.

WorraLiberty Sat 25-Jun-16 18:17:12

Oh and we pop everywhere here.

We also pop things in the oven.

I'd never really thought about it until now grin

usual Sat 25-Jun-16 18:17:53

I'll let you off then, Rafal, Once or twice is allowed,

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes Sat 25-Jun-16 18:18:10

Favourite. Not hatevourite.

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Sat 25-Jun-16 18:19:10

Thanks. grin

I'm going to have to think of something else next time I want to use it though, aren't I?

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Sat 25-Jun-16 18:19:54

hatevourite should be a word. It's the thing you hate most isn't it?

HopeClearwater Sat 25-Jun-16 18:20:14

Vile is a word beloved of the Daily Mail.

NavyAndWhite Sat 25-Jun-16 18:20:24

I say it. Usually to DH after he's farted.

usual Sat 25-Jun-16 18:21:30

Hatevourite is an excellent word grin

My hatevourite word on MN is vile.

LassWiTheDelicateAir Sat 25-Jun-16 18:23:08

Vile is a word beloved of the Daily Mail

Is it? I'll have to take your word for that as I don't read the Daily Mail.
