Pls Remain voters. Once is quite enough. Scotland can ask referendum again. Why not us? I don't want to loose what I have which is already very little anyway. For the emotional bunch who actually believed people like Farage and Johnson.

I understand the sentiment, live in a borough that voted 75% remain but no. It's not a goer. We have to somehow come together.

I have faced one recession worked ten years off of my life like nothing happened and came out fine. Now I have kids and can't face the same. I want out. Why should I keep bailing out people who hardly bothered to try and understand what thousands of experts warned them against? Is there one solid reason why ?

Can the other big cities that voted to remain come with you too? Please?

I have thought for some time that London ought to be a city state because of its disconnect with the rest of the country. At least now London has noticed that the rest of us are fed up of being lied to and ignored.

Say this happens, which I seriously doubt it will, what about the London Leave voters? Are their views not as valid as Remain? But then again, it would be a democratic vote to leave like the referendum was also a democratic vote... oh wait.

You could dig a moat around London and pull up the drawbridge to keep the stupid non-Londoners out and everything!!

100% of voters in this house voted to leave.

That does not mean I get to declare our house an independent Cooee Republic.

The people complaining about London not paying attention to their problems before: it wasn't London, it was the same politicians you listens to now. Stay happy with that and leave us alone. And yeah the boroughs that didn't want Remain, they can join whoever they want.
thenaze
See, if Scotland goes, we are hardly England and Wales anyway. Might as well be London, England, Scorland and Wales? What do you think? At least I will have a better future and won't have to pay for the idiocity and racism of others.

I do believe that if London actually looks like going, a large majority of Leave voters will backtrack. I have already written off Wales and Cornwall off of my holiday list forever. Cornwall had no shame in getting the money from EU and biting the hand that fed them. You deserve what Boris and Co will send (or not send like forever) your way. Shouldn't they have stopped taking the money first and vote Leave later? Fair enough. We get to keep our city. You go down. Good luck with that.

Poor high flying Londoners, what a shame that the rest of the country were actually heard for once :(

I voted & campaigned for remain, I was born & raised in London, yet your post is the whole embodiment of why 17.4m people voted, sadly the way they did. It was 2 fingers to the establishment, the perceived London bias (don't see that myself)
See what you're saying OP but, it's this mindset that has created the problem over the last few decades.
If however, Brentwood can join, I'm in Wink

I'm another that has long thought it would be better for London if we could declare independence. London's desires and interests are different to the rest of the UK.

London is big enough to be a viable state.

The rest of the country won't let it go though.

Theoretician · 25/06/2016 15:16

The people saying London doesn't listen to the rest of the country: isn't that precisely why separation would be a good idea? Then you could do what you want, uninfluenced by London.

Given
You see I never for once sweated or abused or have derogatory remarks to any Leaver ever, no matter how stupid the argument became. But now that my family's future is in danger again, I feel so helpless I could send the lot of these stupid people who actually bought the rhetoric without even so much as doing a google research on their vote.
Naze
My post is also the embodiment of the frustration of people who worked their backsides off the last 8 years to get out of a recession only to be thrown into this mess by a bunch of people who never really bothered to think thoroughly before using the weapon of vote that was foolishly handed to them. I wish we could get out now before it's too late.
The Leave's Elliot has just apparently said that all the deals should be decided BEFORE we actually activate the article 50. I could laugh so hard.

Those people don't just live in London, the are spread throughout the country. Many even living in places declared "leave" . Some of you Londoners are very arrogant, I speak as one but I don't actually live in London so you probably don't give shit what I think anyway.

Yeah - you go, London! That's the way to do it - show those idiots who voted leave rather than staying in and working on the EU status quo by...err...leaving rather than staying in and working through problems with the status quo...Confused and if you can do that - why not everywhere who voted remain? A few of us straw-munching illiterate yokels did, you know.

empress I do acknowledge a HUGE number of people living in Leave areas voted Remain. I am sorry but I honestly have no solution to offer for that.
However duck I honestly don't believe there is any way I would label these areas as NOT being generally illiterate anymore. Sorry if that sounds arrogant. What else would you label it? Again, I have no solution for you but if So many can start thinking of making a move out of UK now, why not you? Or are we endowed with some superhuman power that will help us establish out in new and unknown places so far away from our own land?

God sake. Why is London so special? What about the rest of us who voted remain from other areas?
We live in a democracy, I'm gutted by the result but we need to get on with it now. The majority of people have spoken and whether or not we agree with them we need to accept it.

This can't be a real thread surely its Saturday night fodder? the arrogance is ASTOUNDING. The implied intelligence of voters elsewhere, the I'm alright Jack attitude, the superiority - my city voted remain, it was even oop North, you know Shock
What a disgusting, shitty attitude to take. There are people in EVERY town and city right now that feel trapped by this decision, worried and heartbroken Sad this kind of selfish post does not help. We had a tough time up here too when major manufacturing tanked but we also adapted and worked our arses off to provide a better future for our children and I'm scared shitless about what happens now
