AIBU?

To ask people to shut up about Brexit and to just live in the moment?

I know its not going to end anytime soon.

But it's done. The decision has been made- nothing we can do about it.

Maybe we will hit a recession. Maybe most of us are fucked.

But until it happens- how about we all enjoy a large glass of and just accept what will be- will be.

And yes- I voted remain.

Exactly Agent. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow but does that mean i'm scared of crossing the street? No.

Not to mention (and yes it has been said a million times already) it appears that everyone has turned into a politician overnight

Yabu no way the leave camp would have just 'shut up' had it been the other way around. 43 years of relative stability and prosperity upended for absolutely no reason and we are not allowed to be pissed off? Fuck that.

YANBU. Moaning, shouting,calling names, wanting to ban groups of people from voting, throwing toys out of pram, being key board warriors won't sort anything. It's done now, there's no point going on about it and some people are being vile, both on here and social media. At the end of the day like you say anything could happen. I could get run over tomorrow, people are putting too much focus on what happens in the future. Personally I think cross that bridge when I get to it. Some people are so dramatic. From some people's reactions you'd have thought we'd declared WW3 or reintroduced the death penalty! Some people have taken the opportunity to act their shoe size instead of their age and its ridiculous. I particularly love (being sarcastic here) how some of the stay crowd are berating the leave for being racist but then post ageist shite about the older generation

FWIW I can definitely understand people being pissed off, and having a whinge.
I think a lot of people are panicking, and are feedin off of each others panic.

But I really hope it doesn't last too long.

Right now the country is divided, with everyone at each others' throats, no leader, no plan and an uncertain future. If there was ever a time to all pull together this is it.
What's done is done, and we need to find a way to make it work.

I was gutted this morning. This afternoon I found out that my mum's friend's newborn granddaughter died of an indected, unheard of birth defect today. I don't know the family personally but it's been on my mind all day. I'm disappointed about Brexit, but I can't imagine what the family are going through. At this moment I just feel lucky to have my two children. Yes I agree you can't control the future, you just have to enjoy the little moments.

I lost my livelihood today, due to this result.

Loads of other freelancers will have too - this uncertainty until int'l companies hear whether we're in or out of the single market makes them incredibly cautious.

It's FABULOUS that many people are not directly affected by brexit yet and can live in the moment. I mean that sincerely. But it's fucking unreasonable of you to tell those of us who are affected to shut up and live in the moment. I've had to spend most of the day working out my finances and figuring out if I can avoid selling my home for now.

Yabu. This is huge and will have after affects for decades if not more. Some people are losing their jobs right now. It's not really 'live in the moment' for them is it?!

Maybe get over to the thread on chat about people who are going to lose their jobs as a direct result of this to understand why people are angry and scared.

There is little you can do as an individual to change something that is out of your control. A lot of the worry is hypothetical worry which is better parked to one side and dealt with when it becomes a real worry.

It is Nu to be concerned about the future though. Moody's credit agency cut our rating from stable to Negative last night meaning we are not such a good proposition for other countries to deposit funds with. Our Governtmenr is no longer seen as a safe bet in effect.

We will head towards lower growth/recession. How bad it will be is unknown and with benefits now being cut it will affect people.

However, it's a free country and people can vote how the like.

The people to be really angry at are the divided Tory party who have caused this to please each other and it has backfired on the leaders in the most spectacular way.

I think if you voted for these lot them there is little to complain about as they were the instigators.

Oh yes! DH and I are definitely living in the moment.

However, the 'moment' for us is of great uncertainty, and possible job losses.

I'm trying to remain calm, but to read about posters who didn't really think their 'Out vote would count' leaves me speechless.
