Yes I have voted, but I am sick and tired of the unrest, I'm aware there has been a lot of discontent for a long time but its now feeling toxic and I want it to be over one way or the other.

I am voting shortly.
My choice hasn't changed since this all began.

I agree with you though, there is an uncomfortable air about today.
FB (I know !) is a battleground. People are actively getting offended at each other and falling out.

I agree OP, I just want to know the result and move forward. Its been such a horrible campaign. I didn't sleep properly after watching the debate at Wembley on Wednesday night - just felt totally rattled by it all.

I hope its a vote to remain but we just need to know now one way or the other

So glad its not just me, I have a hide like a rhino normally but today is really unpleasant

I've just voted to remain. Am now sitting in a lovely little cafe with tea and scone (could anything be more British?). I'm dreading waking up to the result tomorrow.

I've got this horrible feeling that the outs will win, Christ knows what happens then....

Totally agree. The toxicity of the campaigns has permeated everywhere in my view and I hate how it has divided us. I don't think we should ever have had this referendum, but now the day has come I want it over ASAP.

A tick in the box is all I can do, so once I voted I felt calmer than I had all week.

Not just you OP, I feel hugely on edge and as the day goes on I am starting to become genuinely scared of the repercussions of the result.

'A tick in the box is all I can do'

Same here squoosh, I feel better now that its done. I'm determined not to listen to any exit poll nonsense tonight, going to go to bed with a book by 10pm and turn the radio and telly off, try to get a good night's sleep, and face whatever is to be faced tomorrow

Does anyone actually think the outs will win? I'm not in Europe and I just want today to be over so everyone can get on with their lives. I am pretty sure the result will be remain. Obviously I may eat my words, but I doubt it.

Yes ive got a bad feeling too. I had it when the Scots voted too, and that turned out ok. So crossing my fingers and staying off FB!

I'm feeling remarkably relaxed. I was much more wound up about the Scottish Independence Referendum and went to bed feeling sick to the pit of my stomach that it wouldn't go the way I wanted.

This time I'm not so bothered - i'm a remain, but the strength of feeling isn't the same. I am dreading a leave vote though - not because I think it means the UK will implode, but because Noxious Nicola and her crowd will put Scotland through yet another referendum for independence.

DP has decided he would like to watch tonight. I have prewarned him that if it goes the wrong way (IMO) I will get upset.

Can't get much done, as so worried and stressed. I feel it will be an out majority, and that will mess up our lives so much. I already feel great resentment towards the out voters who have allowed themselves to be so easily misled. I think that the antagonism between in and out voters will be a long term problem.

I feel awful today too. I'm in NI and I'm terrified about what will happen if we vote out.

Voting remain.

The level of venom on my fb is horrible, I think it is a defunate possibility that exit will win, I'm in a minority amongst family, these are people who haven't voted for years.

I was unsettled but have become more confident remain will prevail. When it is over I want Cameron to step down for putting Britain in this position and I want an end to shitty dog whistle politics.

Luna I could have written your post myself. The thought of another toxic independence referendum fills me with more dread than the actual outcome today (although I am worried about that too). I hope remain wins too.

Ah, see Lotta I know I wouldn't sleep very well and would then be too paralysed with fear to turn the TV on in the morning and have some TV AM numpty tell me the news.

I'm staying up!

Whichever side is victorious, there will still be anger and tension for a good while longer.

I too feel anxious. Like there's a simmering pot about to boil over.......

"A tick in the box is all I can do."

Not trying to be picky, but I'm pretty sure they always ask you to put a cross in the box though don't they, not a tick? Hopefully they'll accept both.

I understand about feeling unsettled op. I have anxiety, and found that the last couple of weeks I've suffered far more than usual. I'm looking forward to it just being out the way. I voted first thing this morning, and agree, that's all you can do. Smile

I'll be honest and admit to being lazy with voting and normally only bother for general elections. Not this time, the idea of exiting the EU scares me as I still have no idea what this would practically mean in terms of jobs, money, trade etc so I made sure to get down early and cast my vote.
