They came over after lunch and have spent the afternoon doing jobs around the house. MIL has done all the weeding and planted my pots. FIL has put DHs pull up bar up in the garage and has brought some screws round to fix our towel rail, which he's now fixing.

They won't even stay for dinner as they had a big lunch and we had to convince them to let us take them home as they were going to get the bus.

The fuckers Grin

They sound great!

We always saw a lot of PIL but My mil is lonely since fil died so I often come home to find her doing the garden, I thinks it's quite nice we normally have to insist she stays for dinner as she doesn't want to get in our way bless her.

Once when mil and sfil came round, they brought everything needed to cook a roast dinner.
After they'd cooked, they washed, dried, and put everything away.

The next day, I found a knife that clearly belongs in the knife block had been out in the cutlery drawer.

PA bastards Angry Grin

It is trying, that same visit mil made me cry with laughter.
She is clearly jealous of my make up skills so is trying to ruin my efforts.

It's clever, but I'm on to her.

Where is your 'D'H in all this? He should be the one forcing them into the car in case they get a bus. He should grow a pair of hanging baskets that your mil can plant

I would hate that, I don't like people messing with my stuff. You've got a few nice little jobs to potter around and do and some helpy fucker does it for you.

I know, right? Mil also came over last week and helped me clean the house. I despair.

I've had to name change for this because it's made me feel really trembly.

I get that this is oh so hilarious for you all but have you even glanced at some of the things people go through with those parents? If not there's an entire regular thread devoted to it around 'Stately Homes'. Once you or your partner have had actual abusive narcissistic upbringings, there's not much to giggle about at all. It really fucks people up.

I expect you'll all roll your eyes and put me on your shit list but I don't care anymore, it's taken years for me to acknowledge the seriously abusive childhood I had, and here you all are ... laughing at people who try to confront it. Imagine routinely taking the piss out of "my husband is abusive" posts as an equivalent. It's horrible.

Its clearly not a piss take of people who have been abused. Its a humorous way of saying how nice their pil are and how they don't have any real complaints. Nobody was meant to be upset by it and its a shame if it makes someone feel bad about their life, but as it wasn't meant like that then I think it was wasted energy to complain about the thread content.
