AIBU?

To wonder why Prince William didn't shake the children's hands?

DH is watching FA Cup final and at the start William comes out and walks down the line up shaking hands.

Each player has a child around 6 /7 years old. William reached over their heads to wish the players good luck and ignored the kids.

I know the children are in awe of getting to stand in front of their heroes but it would be nice just to give them the whole experience and it would have taken an extra minute or two!

DH thinks it's hilarious I noticed this and says I am such a mum Grin

They were already running late so I expect he got told to hurry it along but I know what you mean!

Time factor

Because children's hands are more sensitive than those of adults, so if he'd touched the children they would have detected the lizard scales that lie beneath his fake skin.

True story.

We noticed William dashed along the line leaving a long gap between himself and the other bigwigs. He could have spared a moment for the children.

We already have a thread pouring bile over William's wife. Not one about him now too

I just thought Rooney or cute excited child with a huge beaming smile on their face! I know which one would get my attention!

Missing the importance completely according to DH Grin

I've never noticed an official shake the hand of a mascot.

Being a Mascot is an honour in itself and I doubt they care if William shajes their hand.

It seemed odd to me too! One of the little boys even bowed his head - bless him.

I think it was just a time factor, the whole thing was running late, it would have been nice but it's nothing to really get annoyed at him about

I've never noticed the mascots having their hands shaken either.

Derxa You are Carole Middleton and I claim my £5! Grin I'm a 'well-built' Scottish farmer who's knee deep in sheep shit but apart from that I'm her doppelganger. Honestly if this thread had been about Kerry Katona or some such MNHQ would have deleted it for being 'not in the spirit'

I must admit I thought the same. However, he did rush through the line of players so I assume time was a factor

My favourite bit was when the singer stood there grinning, whilst the national anthem was being played, & joined in 2 lines from the end.......,"You had one job..."
