ahhh that satisfying SNAP. yet some heathens (i'm looking at you, DP) insist on room temperature. what's that all about?!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es Fri 13-May-16 14:10:46

It has no flavour when it's been in the fridge, pointless eating it.

wowfudge Fri 13-May-16 14:11:26

Decent chocolate should snap at room temperature. Plus chilling it masks the flavour.

harryhausen Fri 13-May-16 14:12:20

God no. It looses all its taste. Ew.

sonlypuppyfat Fri 13-May-16 14:12:44

OP you could not be more wrong, you could try but would not be successful

Oreocrumbs Fri 13-May-16 14:14:29

Very unreasonable..... Very.

DoinItFine Fri 13-May-16 14:14:32

I've given up on pretending I prefer "decent" chocolate.

I like cheap chocolate all cold and hard from the fridge.

My DH freezes it.

I think that's a step too far.

Room temperature is acceptable if there is no fridge.

Ot if it's a cream egg or toffee crisp

OptimisticSix Fri 13-May-16 14:15:16

My DH is always putting chocolate in the Fridge, I can't stand it, give me room temp or slightly warm any day!

Savagebeauty Fri 13-May-16 14:15:20

I hate warm chocolate.

MyKingdomForBrie Fri 13-May-16 14:15:25

YANBU at all, but I am very aware that I do not have advanced taste buds and am basically a food heathen!

WhatwouldRuthdo Fri 13-May-16 14:16:26

YABVVU. Chocolate from the fridge is a shameful waste. Your DH has got it right.

PestilentialCat Fri 13-May-16 14:16:54

fridge-cold toblerone is lovely smile

other choc at coolish room temp please smile

LittleMissBossyBoots Fri 13-May-16 14:17:48

YABU

Chocolate should be all warm and melty and delcious. Preferably dripping after a coffee dunking.

scarednoob Fri 13-May-16 14:18:27

omg so many heathens wink

this is my current obsession - it even says on it "best serve chilled":

BillBrysonsBeard Fri 13-May-16 14:18:55

Me= room temp from the cupboard
DP= fridge cold

It's good because I'm less likely to swipe his grin I can't taste it when it's cold.

NoSpamPam Fri 13-May-16 14:19:34

No i hate cold chocolate I love it melty

EponasWildDaughter Fri 13-May-16 14:20:19

Chocolate should only be eaten along with a big glass of cold milk sometimes in the same mouthful, all chewed and swished about together grin

PuppyMonkey Fri 13-May-16 14:22:24

Fry's Chocolate Cream straight from the fridge, there is literally nothing nicer. No flavour, me arse.

readingrainbow Fri 13-May-16 14:22:43

I've stopped eating chocolate, but dh prefers it from the fridge or frozen. I could barely taste it in that state. Pointless!

ICanSeeForMiles Fri 13-May-16 14:23:40

Only Mars Bars should be chilled, and sliced before eating. Everything else, room temperature, followed by ice cold milk.

scarednoob Fri 13-May-16 14:23:45

yes to the ice cold milk! if no milk is to be found, cold water is an acceptable but weaker substitute.

I wonder about those who can't taste it when cold. do we fridge lovers have superior tastebuds, that we can taste it through the cold - or deeply inferior ones, that can't process the difference?!

BaronessBomburst Fri 13-May-16 14:24:00

Chocolate should be at least 85% cocoa solids or it's not chocolate.
And never in the fridge!

BaronessBomburst Fri 13-May-16 14:25:04

Inferior. grin

Onsera3 Fri 13-May-16 14:26:45

Can't stand room temp choc. Fridge or not at all.

GipsyDanger Fri 13-May-16 14:30:29

Thank you! Just reminded me I've got a kitkat chunky in the fridge just now grinchocolate
