To get a nose and lips job?

Hey everyone,

For the past 16 years I have been very self conscience of the size of my nose and my lips. I have a bulbous tip, and wide nostrils and my lips are huge- people in the past have told me I look like a monkey , so it's that sort of image.

I have no pictures of DS and I together, and I always refuse my friends to take pictures of me. I get self conscience going out in public and talking to people face to face.

The only nice features I have is my eye shapes and I'm worried that if I go ahead with the plastic surgery, my eye shape will change.

Also as I am of Caribbean decent, I'm worried that they are not many surgeons that do more ethnic plastic surgeries.

I feel like my huge nose and lips is having a huge effect on my daily life. What would you guys do? Should I consider plastic surgery?

I'm sure you look fine and I'm sorry to hear that your appearance is distressing you. Could you post a picture or show us an image of someone you look like? I think celebs often look worse after surgery and there is slways the potential for it to go wrong, even. When people have spent a lot of money on plastic surgery.

I'm sure it's not as bad as you think it never is.
But I had a nose job and it changed my life so I'm not going to lie.
I also had a bulbous nose. Feel free to post a pic of the type of nose you have and I can advise. I did loads of research into it.

Well if you've been feeling very self conscience for 16 years why not go ahead and have it done? Everyone deserves to be happy. There's plenty of people who have cosmetic surgery then still aren't happy.

If you guys Google Michaela cole, I have lips like hers and that sort of mouth shape where your lips come forward ifyswim.... Trying to find a celebrity with my kind of nose next.

I think her lips are gorgeous! A lot of women would pay a lot of money for thicker lips!

I'm not sure if Rihanna has had nose surgery. But my nose is similar to her old nose

Combined together is not a good look on me. But it's more my nose than my lips if anything else.

I'm not sure about the lip job op as I don't think I've seen a good result with one in real life.

As for nose job, I know a few people who've had them and the results are amazing. If it makes you so unhappy, I'd say go for it.

The people I know who have had nose jobs have had them to shorten long noses. It hasn't changed their eye shape at all. Only their nose length has been changed (and they are pleased with the results).

I was thinking of getting a scar removal cosmetic/surgery done, which is on my nose and see how I feel about taking that next step into getting nose surgery.

Finding I don't want to change my lose length. But to shed down my bulbous tip and my nostrils for not to be as wide.

The people that called you that were racist fuckers. From your description you sound really beautiful and Micheala Coel is absolutely gorgeous! Especially her lips.

If you get anything done then maybe your nose. I can't imagine a lip reduction (?) ever looking right. I doubt it'd affect your eye shape but you would be best discussing it with a surgeon. I think they can show you what you might look like afterwards.

But be sure it's a rationally thought out decision and not because of the 'opinions' of others.

Um. My guess is that the people who said you looked like a monkey were idiots. Racist idiots.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't have surgery if you think it's the right thing to do, but buying some beautiful lipstick might be a better fuck you to them. Cheaper too.

I'm sure you look nothing like a monkey! "Monkey" is an abusive term thrown at black people - could it have been that sort of insult?

Michaela is gorgeous - I love her lips.

I think black people who have their noses altered to look more "white" can look really unnatural Michael Jackson

I think Michael Jackson is a pretty extreme case. He seemed to have had a number of surgeries and the techniques are probably more advanced now. I don't think he looked unnatural in the earlier years.

And the people that said that I looked like a monkey were all black, and to be honest, I do... From the side of my face. I caught myself looking in the mirror from the side and I thought DAMN I do look like a monkey

Yes that what I was afraid of.... Looking like Michael Jackson. I don't want my nose to resemble European noses, but to reduce my bulbous tip and bring in my nostrils.

Yes you're eyes will become more opened. It has to be subtle. You also need to research a surgeon who has worked on black people and ask to see evidence - pictures.

I honestly think you're going to have to take professional advice on this one.

I was going to say that I've never seen a good lip job, but then actually maybe I've seen 100s but they're done so well that they don't look like lip jobs IYSWIM? Same with nose jobs and all surgery really.

It's ok for people to say they think Michaela is gorgeous, but that's a matter of taste/opinion and the most important thing here is that after 16 years, you're still unhappy.

Could you speak to your GP and ask how/where to research decent consultants?
