AIBU?

To think this habit is disgusting?

This morning I had to fish my dh's nicotine gum out of the toilet. He thinks that this is no big deal and I should just flush it- he's been doing it for ages Confused Usually it's just urine he leaves which I also hate. He does not understand that these little things make me feel disrespected and are a huge turnoff. Is this ur?

It is ridiculous to put gum in the toilet, he needs to put it in the bin.

I'd have flushed it.

Why did you pick it out?

Report
SeasonalVag · 05/05/2016 22:14

Why didn't you make him do it?

whois · 05/05/2016 22:16

I'd probably have put some tissue over it and flushed it. Picking it out is a bit grim especially if he has left piss there too!

He'd left- I didn't want it to block toilet. Sorry what does pmsl men?

I doubt it would block the toilet! How big was the piece?

Let it block the toilet. Then let him sort out getting it fixed.

I wouldn't care about the wee in the loo but the gum is annoying. I wouldn't fish it out but if I told my DH I found it disrespectful there's no way he'd carry on doing it.

What a douche.

Ok but if he's doing it regularly- it's just one of many things that he does that I find v unhelpful/slovenly/depressing.

Block the toilet?!? Unless you have a macerator style system ( saniflow etc) then it'd have to be gum the size of a gobstopper to block a toilet!

Basically he doesn't flush the toilet?

WTF

Cookingongas · 05/05/2016 22:20

Yanbu though- you put it in the toilet you flush it, standard toilet etiquette.

NC. My sister didn't flush the toilet until she left for uni. Vile and lazy.

Living in a flat share and getting bitchily mocked knocked it out of her in 2 weeks.

HTH

So other people don't mind having to flush toilet for grown man when caring for a toddler?

Golden rule:

If a flush is not enough, try again. it's still your stuff'

I just made that up; I'm quite proud of myself.

Perhaps your husband is saving water by leaving his piss in the pan? If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down.

bettawithpancetta I think I can see where you're coming from: he's just leaving it assuming "someone" will sort it out. Unfortunately you are the acting chambermaid, and that sucks. I think you need to talk to him, you sound deeply pissed off.

Sometimes people have a 'no flush in the night' rule of the plumbing is noisy so I can see why there might be wee there first thing - clutching st straws

booklooker you should make a load of boards with that written on in fine calligraphy for people to hang in their loos. You'll make a killing

What happened to 'if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down'?!?

Not sure where that leaves nicotine gum though, tbh Confused
