To tell him how I feel?

I don't know if this should be in this thread or not. I have been a long time lurker on her and often see people getting ripped, so please be nice

Basically, I have a big group of friends, some I am closer with and some not as much. But over the last few weeks I have started to have feelings for one of the guys in the group. We get on really well, I like his gentle personality and he's very sweet and could tell he would make a great partner.

I'm quite shy when it comes to this area, and I'm scared if I were to say anything it would effect our friendship and possibly make our group dynamic awkward? I've mentioned it to one of my friends in the group, but don't want to say too much to too many people that it could get back to him.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and what would you do? As I said, i don't want to talk to my friends in the group about it, incase they get all funny and just make things all awkward, so I thought I'd ask the mumsnetters for help

This was me about 11 years ago. I basically dropped some very unsubtle hints to mutual friends with no discretion rather than go direct but YANBU to do it that way. We've been married 6 years.
